As I’ve revealed personal information about my age earlier in the thread, I feel no qualms talking more about it: Cheney is a new idea to me. I was primarily concerned with learning how to read during the Iraq war, so that particular set of horrors was initially lost on me. If Cheney is the Holden Bloodfeast everyone says he is, then how is that even remotely a good thing? How does that cast your campaign in a positive light?

Also, I’m not sure what Putin had to gain from endorsing an American candidate. I was doing mental gymnastics trying to figure out why he did. Either Putin thinks that Kamala will fuck up her foreign policy and role as commander in chief so bad that it allows Russia to solidify ties to our adversaries and win the war, or Putin is playing Chess to get people not to vote for her because he prefers Trump in office. I don’t know. The Russians have a track record of having a sense of humor when it comes to spinning lines of bullshit.

I can’t be the only one that just gets a sense of confusion from this campaign.

Appeals - The minute he files sentencing, the Trump team is going to ask the court to stay the sentence pending appeal, and drop a brutal filing that is going to tear the trial judge apart for massive amounts of reversible error. (Not just on immunity, there are a lot of other issues but immunity is the biggest one since the SC made a ruling about it.) Its going to bring an incredible amount of scrutiny down on the judge, and put the appeals court in a real Morton's Fork. Either they dismiss the case/send it back to be retried and in the course make the trial judge look like a total dipshit asshole as well as themselves since they denied all interlocutory appeals. Or they rubber stamp the entire affair and send to the Supreme Court, who will be extremely pissed off that they have to waste their time dealing with the bullshit caused by multiple lower judges ignoring the SC's opinion.

1000% this. It'd be easier to name the part of the trial that didn't make an abject mockery of the fifth amendment. From refusing to allow Trump to defend himself against the supposed underlying crime(flat out suppressing an FEC expert who could legally demonstrate that it wasn't a crime), to allowing a split verdict to count as a conviction(even if New York law allows it SCOTUS is not afraid to overturn unconstitutional law that local state legislatures passed) it's a total legal farce. The judge was, by all accounts, willing to cosign basically anything Bragg brought no matter how outrageous.

I disagree, I don't think this is all down to lack of experience and more a lack of critical thinking skills. Correct me if I'm wrong, but as fare as I know these campaigns and politics in general are an up and out system. You either move up, or you move out. Whatever talent the DNC had in the past has moved out when it became clear there is no moving up. All that's left is the aging assholes in power, and the dumb diversity hire, who literally isn't smart enough to run a campaign.

Once upon a time they were very special. The Nitro in the name isn't just a cool word, they used nitrocellulose rather than black powder which is a much more potent propellant. I think they just use an equivalent charge of smokeless powder these days but they stick around because there's rules on the types of cartridges you're allowed to use for big game hunting, otherwise people would probably just use 50 BMGs because it's $5 a round and more powerful. There's not a ton of demand for them and the people who do want to own one for themself rather than just rent one tend to be wealthy so there's only boutique manufacturers handcrafting them for the people who want them, hence the exorbitant price. They're going to be something you hang on the wall next to the animal(s) you've taken with it because it's a work of art in and of itself
