This might be an unpopular opinion here but Tony Hinchcliffe's comedy set at the MSG rally was an optics nightmare and probably shouldn't have happened. It also really wasn't the place for comedy.

This isn't the first time a Presidential candidate has invited a politically incorrect comedian to a rally or an event. There's a reason why Don Rickles was trending last night, too. Just saying.

If Tony's appearance is going to affect anything, it's probably going to be his own career (I can envision lots of comedy arenas/clubs/venues canceling his events or not booking him now). It's not going to affect Trump's number negatively though. As I said in my post last night, most people are SO over it with this PC garbage. The only ones who are outraged are leftist morons who are desperately trying to stir the pot because they know they're losing. Your average American voter literally can't afford to care about what some standup comedian said about fuckin' Puerto Rico.

Anyway, here's the best line that Tony said last night:

"We all vote next week. God voted 3 months ago." :story:

The "only American artists" thing is tricky, since I feel like "Young Turks" by Rod Stewart would be a great choice.
Excellent choice. What's funny is I never knew the song was titled "Young Turks." I always thought it was "Young Hearts," which I'm not alone in. I'm sometimes iffy about Rod Stewart but he has some really great hits.
All I'm saying is if Puerto Rico is not a land of garbage then it should petition to no longer be a US territory and be a completely independent nation.
The problem with PR is they want to go their own way when the economy is good, but start talking about statehood when the economy is bad. I would not mind PR becoming a state if the Republicans get a territory that is conservative. Some people have talked about American Samoa, but all it will take is The Rock to run there and it's probably a Democrat state as a result.

I don't think Tony Hinchcliffe was a good fit for a big conservative rally, but he's a solid comedian. At worst, you could say that he had a bad set. It happens. Either way, who cares? The Democrats wouldn't dare have a comedian go up and do an edgy set not pre-approved by the party.

It's just the latest iteration of the media pearl-clutching over someone saying what everybody knows, that 3rd-world countries with garbage-strewn streets and shanty towns are, in fact, shitholes. They're Schroedinger's shitholes - unlivable dumps when their populations want to come live here, golden paradises when anybody talks about what sort places those populations build.
Puerto Rico isn’t a country.

I remember when Biden first picked her for VP, some woman was talking about it in an interview and said it was pronounced "comma-LAW" and then proceeded to launch into a screed about how anyone who mispronounces it is very clearly doing it on purpose from a place of hate and racism.

After listening to Biden just a little bit I've concluded that both accepting the VP and taking in Kamala is his way of "reconciliation" since he almost certainly used gamer words well into adulthood, and not in a fun way.

I saw Dubya up close at the President's Cup golf tournament in 2013. It was pretty cool. He was shaking hands with spectators and right before he got to me he got pulled away :-(

I guess I can say I almost shook hands with a president.

I've also stood within like a foot of Tiger Woods a couple times. He's way shorter in real life than what you would expect.

I won an academic competition in the 90s and got to meet him when he was Governor. He was a nice guy but told us not to have sex before marriage (which is odd considering one wouldn’t normally assume that the Academic Decathalon team was celibate by choice).

I talked to my 31 Puerto Rican friends this morning and they are telling me that they were leaning to Trump but the offensive joke was a bridge too far for them and now they are voting Harris and down ballot Democrat.

Looks like Trump stepped on a rake. I don’t think there’s a way for him to weasel out of this one.
Fuck, Trump lost the elusive Friend of Kiwi farms vote. This election is lost.

I'm riding Kamalalamalalama now

The people upset over the "racist joke laugh at jokes aimed at rural whites because that's "punching up"
Please hat me because I am MATI.

Punching down is funny. Comedians have always punched down. Insisting on always "punching up" is alt comedy horseshit that sneaked its way its mainstream comedy. Lefty comics like Dave Chappelle "punch down" all the fucking time and get away with it, but if White McWhiteson does it then suddenly there is a fucking problem.

Patrice O'Neal said it best: funny is funny. You can make a joke about rape. The trick is that it has to be funny. If you can make it funny, then congratulations: you win.

You dumb niggers and your optics, well optics dez hairy nuts, one party wants to chop little boys dicks off without parents even being aware, and you're worried about optics? Telling a joke about PR shouldn't even be consider a problem or something worth talking about.
You can make a joke about rape.
4 out of 5 people agree gangrape is excellent for team building.

I know Tony can be funny, but he's really only popular because he surrounds himself with funnier people through Kill Tony. He did have some genuinely good zingers that synced with the crowd like the Diddy party and "God voted 3 months ago" lines.

His Puerto Rico joke would have been a disaster for a Republican '00s/'10s campaign and maybe even Trump's 2016 campaign just by association. But not this time, too late. Harris' campaign already prepped the bull by getting every MSM news anchor to openly call Trump Hitler the past few days along with highlighting the MSG Nazi rally from a hundred years ago. An off-color joke by a well known-to-be purposefully offensive comedian like Tony is fucking peanuts compared to all that. And I have a feeling everyone knows it.
