This is exactly what I was afraid of - a late minute gaffe being seized upon by the media. I can only hope Trump is able to mitigate this via some aggressive campaigning in PA, but it's still a serious concern. Harris and Trump are neck-and-neck in PA right now; whoever wins the state is almost certainly going to do so by a razor thin margin, and even if only a few hundred people are convinced not vote for Trump because of this, it can still have a huge effect on the end result.

My guess is that right-leaning people will lose most or all of their remaining faith the US government and places where they're the majority will start to increasingly ignore and seek to circumvent the feds. The idea being: if a bunch of states can ignore laws on weed, others can do the same on guns and emissions. They can organize "unwelcoming committees" when thousands of Somalians are dumped in a small town, providing some gentle persuasion to relocate elsewhere. Are there enough federal agents to stop such actions happening all over the country?

This has already started in Texas with Operation Lonestar. Biden didn't have the leadership and gravitas to keep the states in check if push came to shove. If they cheat Kamala in she won't have any ground to stand on if the states really start going against her.

There's still a week till election day. Trump still has time but he has to make it count - he's currently polling at 1% or higher in Georgia, North Carolina, and Arizona, which is high compared to the rest of the swing states. He needs to flip one of the rust belt states to get to 270; He should be focusing all his efforts on the rust belt (PA in particular, as it has the most electoral votes), not dicking around in Virginia and New Mexico of all places.
