I try to make this case to some people, but I always get called a glowie, a kike, or some form of nigger. It is actually quite interesting how the biggest lobbying groups go completely ignored (they are mostly healthcare and big pharmaceutical lobbies) but the Internet obsesses over da j0000z.
There's no case for bankrolling a random foreign country with taxpayer money for decades upon decades.

Honestly this should be concerning for dems in new jersey. I could expect the gop to secure some seats in suburban communities and really start a ruckus.
Size doesn’t matter in the gunpowder age.
Even a small man like destiny can become a ruthless killer given enough training. I could see him reinvent himself as some liberal warlord who ends up
I am strongly pro trump but I feel it's going to come down to if people feel they can afford to vote for Harris.
I think more people are voting for Trump but I do see the derangement growing as Harris folks will feel backed Into a corner and act dangerous.

I got into a discussion with someone about Trump and tariffs today and I need some economist spergs to play devil's advocate: what downsides are there to placing tariffs on imports?

Increased prices. You might think "well, I'll stop buying garbage from China," but a lot of machine parts and other objects your "made in the USA" purchases depend on will come from China, so the US producers' expenses go up and they pass the costs on to you.

Also, governments rarely really get rid of a tax and replace it with another. Instead, usually you end up with both taxes. It's kind of like how streaming services originally were no ads, now more and more of them make you watch ads (even if you buy an extra cost ad-free plan, sometimes, because some ads magically aren't really ads according to them). Revenue is hard to give up. So odds are you end up with more expensive goods and income taxes that are just as high as before, within a few years.

That's why the low effort "support" mechanisms of the Information Age keep it going.

The 45 year old HR lady remembers screaming about genocide in the Student Union when she was young and feisty. So when she gets an excuse to relive her partying days, she puts a Palestinian flag in her Twitter bio, Paypals $50 to some refugee NGO, then sternly lectures her friend circle that she can't support candidates who bomb babies. Maybe she even joins a (much more orderly) protest downtown or passes out pamphlets on a sidewalk outside an anarchist bookstore. She gets the emotional high of fiGhTiNg tHe sYsTEm all over again, just like the college kids today are chasing.

College kids are dumb, but graduating and getting jobs doesn't always make them smarter. Or at least, it doesn't make them act smarter, and when it comes to emotional politics, it sometimes makes them even dumber.
The problem is that this sort of behaviour is not desirable and is borderline unacceptable for a 45-year-old woman. Youth is for the youthful and humans have a natural disgust for middle-aged people trying to re-live their younger days. I have encountered these types in my own professional space and they are not regarded well. They are regarded as clowns and are ridiculed behind their backs.

Mainly that there are quite a few items - both standard and luxury - that we rely on imports for this country. But again, the idea behind tariffs is to encourage domestic production while also having an avenue to raise revenue (prior to the national income tax, tariffs were the primary source of income for the Federal Government). In short, it's allowing for some short term pain to bring about long term economic health.

Unfortunately, one of the defining features of modern American life is not wanting to go through short term pain, which is why we're all fucking fat and up to our eyes in debt.

You assume a nation where firearms are banned means that their police are good shots. America wins again.
Police are known for being terrible shots with the exception of SWAT because they do the absolute minimum training required. Where do you think Glock leg comes from? Paul Harrell did a video about Miami-Dade and his thesis is that the biggest help would come from improved marksmanship.

That point has never really been addressed. Instead all we get is band-aid solutions like .40 S&W, body armour, and automatic pistols, instead of the holistic solution of asking policemen to spend a little more time shooting targets.

Am I having deja vu or we had this same general atmosphere in October of 2020 where people were super duper sure that is Trump is very popular and will win the election even harder than 2016?

just sayin', this caught you all off guard that time.
Nope. Trump was polling on track to lose and overperformed that but still "lost". People were mad about summer of love and covid and it was just way different.

If Kamala wins it means mass imports and harvesting machine is now unbeatable and they can run a potted plant and there are no more political solutions, so one way or another change will happen.

I'll have you all know, I'm still enjoying the fuck out of my hood negro ambulance partner talking shit about Kamala and getting pumped to vote Trump.

Granted, he believes in Yakub shit, but he also thinks Hitler was pretty cool. This guy is an oddity, but he is a cool dude and a proper representative of where the inner city retarded black mindset is at.

They see Kamala as fake, and the fucking  hate when people pretend to be black.
