I am legitimately impressed by how bad the writing is. If it's not straight up trash it's the hoariest cliches you can imagine.
This is Forspoken tier writing.
Really hope Storymode by Internet Historian tears this apart as well

I made a mistake of peeking through the subreddit and they are already drawing fanarts of a game that has not been out at the time of writing.

Of course it has to be an elf. They are always fantasizing about being elves and fucking elves. Now with extra tranny knife-ear juice.

Anyway, here is a palate cleanser for people that saw that ending vid. THIS is how BioWare used to do cinematics.

Retards simping for bg3 is how we got to this point
BG3 has nothing to do with this, that game is actually good(or at least decent, which makes it fantastic by today's standards). Just like I said, you can have "woke" writing or coomer shit in your game if it's fun to play and/or well written. Pathfinder, similarly, gets a pass since those games are also decent. Dragon Age Dread Wolf is neither of those things, it's just a pile of slop shat out by mentally ill who should be nowhere near the industry.
We got here because the consumers are brainless niggercattle with no standards and the people making these games are talentless hacks who don't want to make entertainment products as much as they want to write propaganda. Anyone who enjoys slop like Starfield, various demakes, engage with GAAS or are still paying for games instead of pirating them are all part of the problem.

Nah, just avoid new games. The back catalog of video games couldn't be played in an entire lifetime.
Not necessarily. I am enjoying a few new games. But they are either done by small teams and/or eastern developers. The western market is infested by current politics, but the eastern market is somewhat more isolated and free from that. I have been enjoying the games from FromSoftware, Atlus, Project Moon, the odd euro-jank, etc. Don't get me wrong, they do have their problems depending on their region (The Japanesse with their weirdness and draconian IP laws, the Koreans with their gender wars, the Europeans with their censorship, etc). But they don't usually butcher their IPs for the sake of inclusivity and current politics or whatever issue they have over there. Unless you are talking about Konami, they do butcher their IPs into pachinko machines. :lossmanjack:

Never been this excited for a game to release that I have no intention of playing.

I'm sticking by my earlier prediction of strong launch day sales that are going to fall off extremely quickly, but even then I'm not sure how well it will sell.

Using steam as a measuring stick -

It's sitting at #2 on steam's top sellers, but remember that RDR 1 PC, a $50 remaster of a 15 year old game, was above it when it came out. There's also no other noteworthy games coming out outside of COD.

Predicting 50k concurrent players that'll drop to around 10k by next week.

This mess of a game has been in development long before BG3 launched. Do you really think the script, dialogue options, tranny shit, etc. was all done in the span of the last year because of BG3? I've said it regarding other shit games, ignore the DEI woke crap, and the game is still fucking awful. DEI doesn't get you spongy combat that looks fucking boring, dialogue options that are entirely meaningless or don't even represent what the character actually says, shitty animation and voice acting, boring linear levels, puzzles that amount to moving an object 10 feet to enable a bridge or open a door, etc.

When was the last time Bioware actually produced a game people liked? Anthem in 2019? Fuck no. ME: Andromeda in 2017? Nope. Dragon Age: Inquisition in 2014? Debatable. Mass Effect 3 in 2012? Maybe right up until the end of the game.
SW: The Old Republic in 2011? Buggy fucking mess at launch, and now it's a weird zombie MMO still limping along in a setting that the current Star Wars owners won't even acknowlege. Dragon Age Legends in 2011 the shitty facebook game? Definitely no. Dragon Age 2 in 2011 or Mass Effect 2 in 2010 if you prefer.

Fourteen fucking years ago is how back you need to go to get a bioware game that wasn't shit and people actually generally liked it. Bioware has spent as much time being a husk of a fucking studio, than they were known for actually making good games by now.

The thing with BG3 is that it's an actual RPG with choices and consequences. You can be a complete and utter dick, kill anyone you don't like, ignore companions if they annoy you (or just flat out don't recruit them).

The reason why BG3 is liked by so many people is that it lets you actually play the game and character you want to play.

You could have just said "Avoid AAA games" since this is what it all comes down to. Mainstream gaming is dead, you're only going to get worthwhile experiences from fangames, mods or smaller titles. BTW I absolutely endorse the "stick to the backlog" mentality, and if you don't have one then it's time to make one.
You are defending the faggots not me
There is only one faggot in this thread, tho.

lol, lmao even
It is absolutely DOA once redditors, game journos and biotrannies stop dilating. A recent piece of garbage, Starfield, also got "strong" sales at the start, only to be eclipsed by New Vegas and Skyrim in playerbase within weeks.
The new game doesn't have numbers on Steamcharts yet, likely due to a bug, but here are the numbers for the older games for perspective:

Start ticking down days till DW gets below 1200 players

You mean to tell me that the game with horrible, reddit-coomer dialogue where everything on two legs wants to fuck you, focused on retarded and forced romance options is *gasp* le bad? Gee, it's almost as if Sawyer was right!
He was the director of the game. He could've told them to turn that shit down or remove it altogether but he didn't. Instead, he celebrated the idea and danced around with flowers for an update video about it. There's already weird troon-adjacent shit in the game like Aloth's second soul/personality being female and Eder being able to start a romance with it.

This.
BG3 has a lot of wokeshit in it, but it is overall still a very high quality game with a lot of choice.
If you don't like a character, you can kill them on the spot. Their quests have multiple outcomes.

They are also not openly hostile to straight men, which is of course the main-playerbase.
You got hot-chicks to romance that are not annoying.

If my core bases are covered, I am not that bothered about two gnomes at the side being faggots.

I think Valve still knows how to make good single-player games (although they do it only once every solar eclipse).

Half-Life Alyx was a great experience, and even though VR gaming is quite niche, I would recommend everyone who can to experience it at least once in their lifetime. Many great moments in that game.

I attribute much of Valve's success in retaining their ability to make good games to them being a privately held company. If they were publicly traded, I bet they would have the same fate as BioWare.

I dread the thought of when Gabe Newell is no longer in this world.

This is clearly a comedic video that isn't supposed to be taken that seriously. I'm starting to think that autism might be involved in all this culture wars nonsense if we're missing obvious social cues.

What about Artifact? Or that new hero shooter? Alyx also had, well, Alyx's VA changed for modern political reasons, probably thanks to SBI's "suggestions". Valve of today isn't the Valve of yesterday, you shouldn't put too much faith in them.

I'm not expecting every game they make to be good. I'm just saying they still know how to make good games. And Deadlock is pretty fun, although it's multiplayer. Chill.

50k? I'm predicting 15.

So some of you think bg3 is an example of woke being done right. Never played it myself but I struggle to come up with more examples. The only thing I got is not even from a game but the tv show The Expanse. That show literally had polyamorous space pirates and they made it work without being lame. Games writers are typically not the best writers to begin with, just seems like a fool's errand to even attempt to make a good woke game. I can't wait for Troonguard to bomb.
