Don't be an idiot. The bar for AAA games success is much higher than other games. If Starfield that can be played with gamepass reach 310K peak than this game is a flop. With the budget the game should be way higher. Space marine 2 with much lower budget than this turd manage to reach 225K peak concurrent players. We all thought star wars outlaws gonna perform all right but that game actually bombed hard. Alan woke 2 was touted as fastest selling remedy game and turns out it didn't even turn profit yet.

It looks like references to southern thedas are being treated as absolutely generic as possible. No reference from Morrigan about romancing the warden, same with Dorian and a gay inquisitor or Isabela and Hawke. To get around world states…they just don’t mention it period.

The Qunari are treated as monolithic-you can’t really have Qunari companions the way the Qun has been set up. So qunari(or Kossith) companions have to be separate from, alienated from or otherwise isolated from the qun itself. Or not Qunari at all. (Tal-Vashoth) Taash being raised in Rivain fits the same pattern.

It’s honestly a consistent pattern. Only Sten is really 100% loyal to the Qun. Tallis is trying to convince herself and is basically doing what she wants on her own. The last two are defectors from the Qun basically. The Antaam being minions of the elven gods(I haven’t heard any visit to Par Vollen?) also allows the game to avoid having to actually address the Qun directly. Is it good because trans rights or is it an oppressive tyranny? I think the writers want to avoid having to answer that question. So interactions with Qunari characters are always separate from the Qun itself.

I am somewhat pleased Solas tries a last minute betrayal. But his dread wolf form sucks.

The world of Thedas at the end is basically close to the status quo. Compared to inquisition where a pope and an empress can be radically different configurations.

The Orlasian relations are a big one for many reasons stated in the games, but explicit in the books. I'm going off of memory since I'm not at home with the books right now but in a major battle with Maric, Loghain made the choice to charge into a losing battle, and of course it doesn't work out well for them.
Hes presented with a similar situation in Origins and sees it to be a lost cause. Him not liking Cailain probably helped with the choice to abandon the battle as well. I get we're suppose to see him as some greedy dick, he left to take the crown for himself in the games. They seem to use the book to expand on his character more and fill in some blanks we don't get answers to in the games.

But to my original remark of disappoint this stemmed off of, nothing ever hints, or suggests Loghain was being controlled when he made that choice. It made sense for his character. Now some never before mentioned entity/group has been pulling everyones strings all this time? Just seems a way for the new writers to insert their ideas into the story and take it over should it ever earn another sequel, steering it into its new awful direction.

Dragon age has always hinted that there are more powerful forces at work/pushing various goals.
