As a person of faith myself, it’s fascinating, because it’s similar to my approach to things like miracles. Except that I at least acknowledge, as many faithful do, that our faith is just that: faith, and it will at times conflict with what we normally understand about the world through rationalism and empiricism. Leftists don’t even have that going for them, they’re blind believers not even aware they’re believers.

the difference between a parent sitting their child down and having a discussion about the dangers of pornography and having sex before marriage (for a number of reasons, not just religious) and a school teacher trying to show your children actual pictures of pornography and telling them how natural it all is without any parental consent or knowledge is fucking massive.

It's like the difference between telling kids drugs exist and, because they're dangerous for various reasons, not to take them- and teaching kids that drugs are fine and how to do them, when they have no idea how their bodies work.

Voted today. Lots of Asians out voting which in my town is a bad sign for Cackles. Saw more black people working the polls than actually voting. There's a huge Burmese population here and they've been Baptist for over 2 centuries. Also lots of persecuted minority groups from Asian communist countries here too, like Hoa, aka Chinese Vietnamese. Middle aged Awfuls holding signs for the Dem mayoral candidate next to elderly Asians holding signs for the Republican one. While filling out my ballot heard a husband across from me explain to his wife in Burmese to remember to vote yes on the school choice amendment. The one explicitly endorsed by Trump. As soon as you start getting into the territory of "infallible truths that cannot and must not be questioned lest you get ostracized" something has definitely gone wrong. Such social behavior can manifest in secular states just as easily as it can in deeply religious ones. Faith can be used to defend a deity and idea alike.

Yeah they’re terrible. The art style they use for them is this butt ugly tumblr-styled blobs and when they aren’t using those ads they’re having Maureen O’Connor a corrupt neocon former judge who would give her son all sorts of shit like houses say that people voted against whatever was brought by the Ohio congress when in reality whenever maps were brought up she would use her power as judge to shut it down and then she decided to retire because she knew she would be primaried. For me though the biggest thing pushing me against it was actually reading the proposal myself. Basically they want to hand the power of redistricting to the hands of a few unelected bureaucrats who can do whatever they want without interruption.

Speaking else of Ohio Politics Sherrod Brown has been pushing ads claiming that he never voted for allowing trannies to compete in women’s sports despite not denying that he supports it or anything else said in ads against him and he claims that Republicans are just wasting their money while at the same time he’s using all the money he got from Schumer, Reid Hoffman, and most likely Hansjorg Wyss on ads claiming that Bernie Moreno is a shady car salesman who got in trouble with the law. There something going on with Brown’s campaign for sure.

The key difference to me is that religion, at least with Christianity, you're allowed to redeem yourself and find salvation if you've fallen off the path, the messiah of the faith died for this to happen.

Leftism offers no chance for redemption and salvation, once you have sinned that sin will be used to further force you into compliance and any time you show weakness or doubt that sin will be laid bare for all to see and condemn you further.

That's why the parents have to do it. However, there's a theory floating around, I think it's called WISE, which explains the reason parents and programs alike fail: because they talk "at" kids and not "to" kids. They don't connect with how kids think. Unfortunately, groomers are successful because they tap easier into what kids want, whether that's social connection, independence, or self-worth.
