I'm curious as to what they're angling with having Sam and Ben have arguments/meetings on camera, but away from the fish. I understood doing it in front of the fish, to sell the illusion. But why keep up the bit in front of an audience who knows it's all bullshit?
Its an acting exercise I guess but I think its also for the fish. I think they genuinely like playing the characters they do, you kind of have to buy into it and live the part. If they had walked away and just hung out then came back and tried to pick it back up, all the momentum of that joke would have been dead.

He's talking about how he's upset the game is putting them against eachother, testing their friendships, and how they're not having fun anymore.
He's upset a reality TV show is doing reality TV show things and it's not just hanging out?

Was thinking the same thing. It's great fun that they got a "cast of dumbasses", but I do wish there was some sort of screening they couldve done to test a contestant's resilience. Of course, I've viewed La'ron very much like Mauro, just big gay nontent, but it's nice having one of the girls be a gay. Would really like to see his queen-outs when it starts getting rough.

Sneed is thinking about leaving. He's talking about how he's upset the game is putting them against eachother, testing their friendships, and how they're not having fun anymore. Payton admitted to stealing the journal, which is making Prince even more upset. Whats going on in the Den?

Ted is teaching a stripper/dancer they brought in dressed as a zombie, to do skateboard tricks with smaak. They're having tons of fun!
I wonder if that's Creature.

"Production told me to" her crying made la' ron cry as well.

Yeah I don't know why I'm seeing so many people say "it's ruined" and it's over, nothing about this is all that insane or off putting, it's just silly.
it's not that difficult of a thought exercise
they're getting constant environmental input that something's off and all of them are busy racking their brains to overlook these things and explain them away to maintain the idea everything's above board and what they signed up for
this here was such an extreme and definite mismatch with what a "reality show" should look like that they can't explain it away, and the moment they can't, they instead start racking their brains over all the bottled up reasons they have an excuse to leave and why they don't want to be there

In response to people earlier in the thread speculating about why the crew is arguing even when the cast is not present-- it might be method acting/maintaining kayfabe for the viewers, but also notice how far sound carries in this fucking house. I feel like you can hear conversations from every room in every room. The sound carries. I imagine most of the arguments they have will be audible to at least one of the fish at any given time.

I was just more curious as to why the director cam follows them for these bits. Like Sam and Ben were hashing out the lines for the election challenge, and the director cam followed them to the confessional for like 5 minutes because Sam didn't like how many times he said "election" in his promo. It followed them during the last challenge too when they were arguing over whose take was better, Ben's or Sam's. Tbh I think the post about it all being filmed as an overarching kayfabe narrative for the episode edits is the most likely answer.

edit:
Alex claims to be 26 but TTS just said "RIP Bam Margera" and Alex responded with a reference to Ryan Dunn and said he wanted to be Steve-O when he was little. Jackass went off the air 23 years ago lol.

its just going to be alex and burt within like 3 days at this rate, not sure if any of the other contestants have any spine.

Sam's fault this time, he's the one who wanted the diary read (unless that was Jet's call)
i think its pointless because these dummies could never survive fishtank either way.

they have not even done anything to create a sunk cost, like fishbucks or some other prize that forces you to stay.

Yeah that is something I've noticed is conspicuously absent this season. Very few cash prizes are being handed out. Have there been any prizes besides the ill defined "Vegas vacation"? Obviously Luke's TCL tv wasn't a real prize.

If you want the fish to hang around you've gotta feed them.

i remember during season 2 during a Sam rage fit he was bitching about how the money wasnt even motivating them and it didnt make sense to him. I think were seeing the culmination of two seasons of fish leaving early regardless of the offer of cash.
