it was that way indirectly up to SB I think, to get all the cross-profession skills and craft properly you needed to level all of it.

Well, im not saying Sena or the localization team has skeletons in the closet, but considering how LGBTs eat their own im going to have a bit of a laugh if down the line someone ends up being twitlongered over anything, real or not.


Also, if anyone wants a little interesting case study of a community and game somewhat imploding or becoming insufferable, this is now slowly reminding me of what happened to Guilty Gear Strive, the end result being that troons invading the space ended up causing multiple drama moments because troons are prone to doing so. So i suppose FFXIV is next if people are slowly becoming more incensed to do so, doubly so since its an MMO. FFXIV always had troons but now Yoshi P has had to sperg out about people being meanies to them.

Interesting times are ahead if the patches double down on the shit storylines

Troons have been an invasive element into the XIV space since forever though.

"Great community btw" is at least partially due to the troon infestation and prevalence within XIV's social circles.

XIV was always ground zero but now Yoshi P has gone on record to speak up for a known one (Sena) this reminded me so much of troons smugging over Daisuke Ishiwatari (Guilty Gear creator) retconing a femboy into a tranny, which is why i thought to make that comparison

Right, but the way I figure it, this was an inevitability considering how prevalent and dominating the troon (and sex pest) presence has always been in XIV, and the fact that the devs have been trying to foster more of a connection to the Western audience (as they would and should in most other cases) just means that the old shitliner's finally coming to port with all of this.

If I were to be particularly fatalistic about the whole thing, I would like to address every last person who ever said "The Japanese don't care about this though" or "This doesn't happen on MY Server/Data Center" by saying that this is what turning your head the other way has lead to. You did not know these were problems and refused to acknowledge them as problems until you had no choice but to see firsthand that they were problems.

Finally finished. Living Memory was a huge slog like all the other zones but the final fight against Speeeen was fun. Liked the parts with Krile and her parents even though it reminded me of how badly she got shafted in this expansion. DT isn’t even “so bad it’s good” where it’s bad but you can poke fun out of the awful writing. It was just boring bad which is the worst kind of bad to me.

Easily my least favorite zone in the game. Tedious to navigate. Looks boring as hell after you turn it all off. Hated going back there after the MSQ to get all the aethercurrents, despite exploring around to find them being something I had really enjoyed in other expansions previously.

I found this video, some youtuber decided to see what the modbeast scene is like, so he used Mare (a tool that you use to sync with other Mare users that lets you see what their character's look like with all their mods, and they can see your character with all your mods). So if you ever wondered what exactly goes on in these modbeast communities.......

I'm sure it's fascinating in a morbid sense, but I just don't think my stomach can handle it sorry. I'll pass. FFXIV has already crushed my spirit enough recently.

So are the raids any good? I'm halfway tempted to resub for a month, switch my audio (and maybe text) to glorious Nihongo, and just cutscene skip my way to the current endgame.

Also Alliance raids out yet?

The Arcadion raids are pretty good. Husband and I enjoyed those a lot. Some of the MSQ ones aren't too bad either. If you skip the actual dialogue you may have enough fun with those to justify subbing for a month.

yes, not worth doing yet, and check again in 8 days because it isn't 7.1 yet

There also isn't really that much on him, all of the "pEoPlE aRe SeNdInG dEaTh ThReAtS" is overblown and I'm pretty sure what I shared is the first time someone found his reddit judging by the fact that it's still active.
Milk may flow if someone alogs, but until then we can just wait.
