We're in the 400s PPM for carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, or effectively a rounding error in size. Before the current increase in the last few decades we were in the 200s, at 160ppm the plants suffocate. Earth's technically been running at starvation level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere for a long time. For comparison, ideal Greenhouse levels are 1200ppm. Don't trust anyone who points to Venus either, it's significantly closer to the sun, it's atmosphere is 90+% carbon dioxide at significantly higher pressures.

Pretty sure life on earth was rockin' and rollin' during the Paleozoic, which is when atmospheric CO2 was 10x-20x higher than today.

I've seen the pictures from the surface of Venus and it does not look like a place I'd want to take cues from, if you know what I mean.

The current official record high for carbon in Earth's atmosphere since we've been recording is around 420ppm or 0.042%. Carbon dioxide is a weak greenhouse gas too, that's why they've been slowly switching to methane as the next panic, although those numbers are equally dismal for the Greenies. Now it's been higher in the past, but we're talking geological time scales and Dinosaurs at that point and it still wasn't catastrophic. I guess the Dinos smoked a lot or something.
