There’s enough Uranium just in US granite deposits to run the planet for billions of years if anyone bothered to mine it all. That’s been known widely for half a century or longer.
To give an idea of how much is out there, there's so much Uranium that early into the cold war the feds abandoned a plan to try to corner the world's supply.
Shocking as it sounds, something can actually exist so much that the federal government ABANDONED a plan to spend money on it!

Something that I’m holding out hope for is the amount of independent/unaffiliated voters that might come out for Trump since RFK endorsed him. RFK was the only Independent with any real momentum. In some of the more key areas discussed in this thread, any substantial amount of support for Trump in the Independent demographic could push him over the threshold of majority.

Democrat Disaster

This is such a big hole that there is no possible way the Democrat E-day vote would make up for this. Democrats suddenly didn't get phobic of the post office.

The only real methods to vote for most people in PA is mail or E-day. They don't do in-person earlies and they purposely make voting absentee hard. The mail is not there. Not there at all.

If Democrats want to make this up there will be MASSIVE lines outside the polling stations in Philadelphia... and not just the Center City locations, but far away from downtown. And massive Democrat turnouts in Northeast Philly.... a place that has generally hated Democrats through most of its existence.

They should just have a room full of blocks of dry wall to punch and kick through.
They exist. They're called rage rooms or rage cages. They're probably all booked up at this point.

You can find videos of soys going into them and limp-wristedly smashing plates and kicking things while shrieking about Trump and Project 2025. It's almost as hilarious as it is pathetic.

Is this real? Is that negative Seven HUNDRED thousand votes?

Jesus christ

Never Trumpers will never go away. They don't vanish into the ether, they're human beings with careers, friends and aspirations. They also predate Trump as a political entity. They will either be around going "I told you so, now let's go back to Bush style neoconservatism" or insincerely latching onto Trump boomer fads to try and gain prominence there. But these miserable people who shit up the political atmosphere aren't going anywhere until old age or long knives get them.
Disagree, solely because the Reaganite Free Market Orthodoxy and neoconservatism is very much a generational thing.
By 2040, there won't be a lot of either who aren't wearing adult diapers, and they will (hopefully) be an irrelevant voice in the party.
There's going to be more of a long-term fight between the populists and the moral conservatives in the future Republican party. The Pro-Life end wanting a national abortion ban are going to be more of a hindrance to the party than the Never Trumpers.

The discrepancy between D and R is most telling here, and very indicative that this isn't just a blip due to covid.

I have a feeling Democrats are going to find out that faking enthusiasm for a mediocrity isn't as contagious as they'd hoped.

This is an interesting claim. Why would that be the case? For the same reasons you describe, a lot of the people who view abortion as a hard No (outside of medical emergencies) won't be a relevant demographic to any conservative parties, and by then the policy you'd be conserving is the states deciding. The indians or mexicans or whoever inevitably becomes 75% of the population also don't support abortion bans historically.

The guy who made the video says "If you don't vote you can't complain" is some kind of canned response. Not voting as an idea is very risky even if pursued as a general political strategy. If you want the current candidate to lose then another more suitable one will take their place how do you guarantee that? It leaves too much up to the unknown and the uncertain.

Let's be realistic here and say if Trump does lose what kind of message would that send to the Republican Party that as it stands currently is built around him? Besides worrying about a potential Harris presidency such an event would also vindicate people like Liz Cheney and her father as well as politicians like Mitt Romney. There is a good chance the Never Trumpers and neoconservatives could come rushing back in to once again acquire political prominence.
I believe with a Trump loss tomorrow, the establishment will be salivating to crush the new populist movement within the party and it will be hard swerve back to the party of big business, bowing to the "my friends on the other side of the aisle" and war wrapped in american flag. What this will mean is that many (myself included) will refuse to vote for any of them going forward and with no viable third party, the uniparty will have full control with a high school play cast of "republicans" as a minority opposition party that will be unable to stop any and all legislation. Potential future leaders like Vance will be ostracized to the point of the "GOP" actually helping to defeat him in the next Senate election for him.

The states will be so overrun with illegals that the previous advantage "republicans" had in the state legislatures will fade away as well.

Is this doom enough for yall?

I believe the never Trumpers see themselves as the modern day hippies, fighting against fascism or whatever snazzy codeword they come up with. Little do they know that they'll be swarmed with neoconservatives that align against Trump that go against their own benefits. War, fiscal responsibility, fundamental rights. Useful idiots turned unhinged like a trained dog with rabies.

Yall talking about food and booze is making me jealous, I gotta get up super early to vooote then head off to work til 2am. I think its going to make the work day go by like a flash though. Bringing my speaker to blare the news coverage.
The anticipation is like being a kid on Christmas eve.
Today is my day off yet I don’t care in the slightest. I just wish it was tomorrow already.

Bring on that red wave.

I don't like a Christmas Eve where there's a 50% chance I get presents, and a 50% chance that those presents are taken away by the Grinch, who sets the house on fire, kills my dog, kicks me in the balls, and tells me it didn't happen.
