Because Bernier Sanders is someone who believes in something and would actually try to fix things. The Democrats actively do not want to fix things. The Democrat strategy is to put a temporary solution into place, then hold it hostage as one of the reasons to vote them into power. It is why they did not do a goddamn thing these past four years. Because fixing any of that makes the problem go away, a problem they could promise to solve.
