If it's the raccoon dogs I'm thinking of, those aren't dogs either. They're more related to foxes, and don't look anything like the dog in the video. They are always a brown color too.

I've actually seen a dog that had that look, at least around the face, but all I can find on GIS are other pictures of dogs where they deliberately "painted" them to look like that.

Maybe a shikoku? A lot of Asian dogs have that fuzzy wild critter face shape but shikoku have very similar coloring as well.

There's a dog called a raccoon dog that looks kind of like that. They're normal dogs, they just have a similar coloration pattern. The genes for coloration are pretty similar across even fairly distantly related species. Sometimes it's parallel evolution and sometimes it's that they share the same specific genes for coloration.

Often a species only actually expresses a single possible coloration pattern with all the members of the species looking pretty similar, but some like dogs and cats have vastly different coloration even within the same litter.

God knows these breeds need those rules the most, i would've added changes to Chihuahuas and Cavalier King Charles Spaniels as well. I think Frenchies are super cute and have toyed with the idea of getting one in the past, then i found out about the never-ending vet bills and the actual poor quality of life these dogs have simply due to the way they are bred. I wouldn't shed a tear if every AKC member would die tomorrow.

Considering the fact that they've been talking about "clones" of these poor dogs, I'm suspicious of this so called "Bape".... It would not surprise me in the slightest if this is some grift where they just have a new toad that look enough like Bape to cash in a bit longer.

For me the decision to spay my cat was very simple as she went absolutely ballistic the first time she got in heat at my place, marking everywhere all the time (a thing i previously thought only male cats did) and being highly agitated, not even really touching her food anymore.

I'm still very on the fence about spaying my cat. I just know that whatever I do must be in the animal's best interest, not for my own convenience. I'd reached out to an animal reproduction specialist vet before adopting a cat and must follow up now that I have one. Heat isn't the worst thing and I've survived several cycles. Her urine marking has also significantly decreased over time, but she tends to mark her territory.

I am worried about pyometra and the general health risks associated with keeping a virgin with rage that biologically needs to get pregnant. Maybe the vet will agree to a hysterectomy vs. a traditional spay? Dunno, I'm terrified of permanently altering my cat without a bulletproof reason for doing so, for her own health.
