This is why there needs to be a State electoral college, or add up votes from counties.
A few rancid Blue shitholes hold entire States hostage. California, Oregon, Washington, Illinois, look at basically any by county voting map.
There are no Blue States in reality, there are Blue cities surrounded by red counties.
I think it's a reasonable suggestion that all states' EC be broken up by counties or districts. The entire point of the EC was to stop heavily populated states from shouting over the others, now cities are shouting over others. But the Dems will bleed from their eyes before they let go of their free 74 votes on the west coast. Including NY that's over 100 they can always add to their count with zero effort.

Why didn’t he do it in 2016?
He couldn't do it in 2016 because there were still enough sane people around to call him out for being a wannabe dictator supported by a cult of personality. Nowadays, those people have made themselves look stupid by repeating "Project 2025 will make the US like a time you were barely alive for or not alive for at all!!!! Save our democracy because there was a riot 4 years ago on a building most of you haven't even entered and live nowhere close to!! Support trans kids!" Trump has been relatively out of the limelight for the while. People have gotten so used to Trump that nobody can recognize Trump for the wannabe dictator and fugitive-from-justice he is. People truly believe that his cronies that will lead us to a future of eating bugs in the pod and dying for some selfish old man in a golden castle in a foreign country are actually trying to free us from a future like that, so he'll be able to loosen presidential term restrictions with little/no opposition this time around.
