Regardless of the bullshit spewed by talking heads, the average American is concerned about the economy, and is chafing under inflation and stagnant wages, and they have overwhelmingly decided to vote for the candidate they thought would pull them out of it.

My final thoughts are this: This election should be sounding alarm bells in every DNC office in the country. Not only have Republicans cut the Democrat lead in Hispanic voters to within the margin of error, but the Democrats have lost the Union vote. I cannot overstate how big of a deal that it's.

Union voters are a notoriously deep blue voter bloc, and the Democrats barely managed to escape the margin of error on exit polls. Major US unions, including the Teamsters and American Federation of Government Employees, broke a half century of precedent by choosing to not endorse a candidate. Meanwhile, Republican candidates in Rust Belt states have managed to court these voters by emphasizing policies to encourage the return of domestic manufacturing.
With those charts, your statements about Trump, and the GOP by extension, becoming the working man's representative are absolutely correct. The Democrats have been insulated from the consequences of their decisions for far too long- God willing this is a wake-up call for them. There are chances of a steal, of course, but with it coming down to the wire things are looking good.
