Even if what you say is true, that's not the case with the minorities present here: Asians and/or Muslims.This is the exact opposite of how it works in many cultures.
With Caucasians for example only if the father is Russian will the kids associate themselves with Russians and grow up to be functional members of society, otherwise they retain their Caucasian identity and everything that comes with it, which is bad considering the trends of rampant islamisation of the world in general and Northern Caucasus in particular (a whole another topic on its own). With Siberian and otherwise Asian indigenous minorities like Tatars the primacy of husband regarding the matter is not as pronounced because they have long since been integrated into our society unless we're talking about regions where they make up a considerable minority/majority like Yakutia.
Like I already said there will be nuance going case by case, but yeah this is generally how it works here.
