These numbers for Harris are insane. She did so bad.

A moment of seriousness;
The amount of rage and despair I'm seeing really isn't normal.
I saw someone on social media this morning blaming "low turnout" for Trump's win - oblivious that turnout in their area exceeded 60% and that Republicans were especially motivated to come out and vote after disappointing results in both 2020 and (depending on the area) the 2022 midterm elections. I've even heard someone backhandedly and unironically liken the upcoming Trump presidency to Nazi-era Germany. This much salt so soon can't be too healthy, can it? :salt:

I don't think she did a single thing to get anyone enthusiastic for her or her campaign.
The way Kamala acted during her "campaign", she acted as if she had no clue or plan to run for office. She truly seemed like a fish out of water and the best she could do was say she wasn't Trump and she wouldn't change anything Biden did. That's not very reassuring for anyone who wanted to know her platform or how a Harris presidency might differ from Biden's. She seemed to run on style over substance only to have little style to offer voters.

Real talk was this better than 2016?

The media meltdown was better in 2016 and the election coverage was better. They were all expecting total Hillary victory. Then suddenly Hillary ordered the bunker at her victory party sealed and the puppeteering wires were cut to everyone (media and politicians) at the Hillary victory party. Nobody knew what to say. The results kept coming in and it kept looking more and more like an inexplicable Trump win. But Hillary refused to communicate to anyone outside the bunker. There was lots of real crying because they had all been told a loss was impossible.

They finally sent someone out in the middle of the night to tell everyone to go home.

Struggling for a way to explain what happened, Don Lemon did his "whitelash" rant. James Carville I think on MSNBC did complete doom speech about the total end of the democratic party. There was Van Jones doing a speech about how parents were "afraid of breakfast" because how could they explain an evil man like Trump becoming President to their kids.

ABC News had "Clinton chance of winning" graphic (Her big circle to Trump's tiny circle) that started out at 71% for her and that hour-by-hour kept getting smaller.

Then you had that whole massive collection back then of nevertrump republicans who were TV saying he could never win and then coping hard when he did win. Then you had all those polling people who got it all wrong explaining how it was not their fault.

2016 was IMO a lot more fun because it was so unexpected and so many people on the left and in the media were so legit shocked by the result. And in the end, they had comfort in the popular vote.

This year, they are angry about it but most of them were not surprised by it. The popular vote this time also seemed crushing for them. It was fun watching them lose, but not as fun as 2016.

Leftists really cant get over they went to college for nothing, huh?

White women continue to be the left’s favorite scapegoat but they somehow don’t understand how the constant dogpiling didn’t result in white guilt, but rather white women changing allegiance to where they are actually accepted.

Of course. 2016 was an amazing standalone underdog story but 2024 is the culmination of a nearly decade-long emotional rollercoaster of truly unfathomable plot twists. Absolutely the most kino thing is the fucking steal. Absolutely devastating when it happened, but in retrospect it was the adversity that drove Trump to go on a training arc and find new nakamas (including face-turned former enemies) to go even further beyond. It is absolutely poetic that the villain’s own actions - the greedy desire to secure more power NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW - is directly responsible not only for Trump’s powerup but also for their own eventual downfall, and that had they not stolen 2020, they would’ve actually won the long game.

You literally can’t write a story as good as the reality of what actually fucking happened.

The twittards are noticing the massive drop in vote count from 2020 to 2024, but are coping and claiming Orange Hitler literally ate all 20 million votes or some such bullshit.

Archiving is kind of dogshit right now, likely due to plenty of other people logging funny stuff, so I only grabbed these 3 and had to use Ghostarchive instead of one of my usuals.
