TLDR the suicide rate because of the election is unaffected, and if so, is almost astronomically small in increase per averages.

It’s barely average. Like a tiiiiiny bit above normal, but not in a meaningful way. And that’s a good thing. I want these TDS sufferers to heal and move on.

I have no special reason to despise suicide more than your average human being. It’s just this: I believe everything is going to get a lot better soon because of the economy. And the people that choose to fold their hand now of all times are victims of the media, I believe. It’s not very helpful to blame them, and it’s certainly stupid to mock suicide victims and I’ve seen it happen on a few sites.

True, you can’t “make” anybody kill themselves. That’s like how people say kiwi farms is responsible for deaths, like we are Emperor Ming taking over peoples minds and making them take too many pills. But this goes to show, maybe even with all these stressors and artificial doom, it isn’t really impacting suicide rates?

TDS shouldn't piss me off, but it does. I'm sure many of you have personal stories and anecdotes about people's unhinged reactions. I won't dwell too much on them, but I've seen women go into hysterics, crying, bawling over a Trump victory. I've seen people from college make public PSAs telling their friends/followers to "fuck off" if they voted the other way. Hell, one person at a grocery store reported a cashier because they were happy how the election turned out.

They're parents, teachers, physicians, doctors, grown people (I don't know) acting emotionally stunted, like it's the end of the world because Trump won. The kicker: they have the nerve to ask: how did this happen? I wouldn't trust people like this to influence governing policy. Hell, I wouldn't trust them to vote on dinner.
