This custom flatbed truck is said to have been created by mounting the cab of a 1968 International Harvester Loadstar 1600 to the chassis and powertrain of a 1997 Dodge Ram 3500 dually pickup. Power is from a 5.9-liter Cummins turbodiesel inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission, and the cab is finished in green over tan vinyl upholstery. Additional equipment includes 24″ aluminum wheels, front disc brakes, a wood bed floor, a gooseneck hitch, a receiver hitch, chrome exhaust stacks, a bed-mounted Craftsman toolbox, and an extended-length shifter. This custom truck is offered with a Massachusetts title in the seller’s name listing the vehicle as a 1968 International Harvester Flat.

The 24″ aluminum wheels are said to have been custom-fabricated for this application and are secured with spike-style lug nuts. A set of Lionheart LH-TEN tires were installed in preparation for the sale. Stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes, and the seller states front suspension components were replaced during the build.

I don't know exactly what all those words in sequence mean, but understand enough to know porn when I see it. Spoiler that shit

ETA- My husband says it's really not that impressive. "It's like shoving a VW Bug engine under our Silverado, with no major changes. Also, there are spacers in the back, because the tires on a 3/4 ton dualie don't go out that far." I guess he watches too much porn.

It is a truck on a truck in the end, yeah. But it's a little more imaginative than the classic 'put a 240 wagon with a on top of whatever random rolled-over truck you can find with a wheelbase within a foot of the right length'.

I'm guessing this is unregisterable in California, due to the smog laws that came into effect a few years ago.

a 5.9-liter Cummins turbodiesel inline-six paired

Useless trivia: Once upon a time the stock ticker for Cummins Diesel was CUM, I think into the early 2000s. Rather than lean into that they wussied out and changed it to CMI. Faggots.

If the VIN is from the Harvester, it would be fine whatever's under the hood - it's old enough to be exempt. California is surprisingly relaxed about what you do to your car, at least until Newsom bans all hydrocarbons in favor of soy milk.
