As I said before the election, I think a major faction in the DNC decided a while ago that Trump winning was better for them than being stuck with Kamala in office as it ties things up for 8 years and would probably destroy them downticket as the economy and world burns around her.

They're probably hoping for an economic collapse they can pin on Trump and a Republican-controlled Congress, and try to use that to prop up Newsom in 2028. Another assassination attempt, especially a successful one, totally derails all that.

The reason I'm anti-abortion is actually because of my mother. Today I was talking with her about the election and just the idea that she ever could have aborted me since I was conceived out of wedlock made her burst into tears. Just at the thought. That's why I'm against abortion. Even if I knocked up some random chick that turned out to be an awful person, I think I would forever be haunted by what could have been if she terminated the pregnancy.

I used to be heavily pro-life then backed off when I thought it was cringeworthy and not really beneficial to making a better world. I started leaning pro-life again because of the pro-choice argument being that third trimester is okay (I do have a problem with that) and I should pay for the privilege of them doing so.

i am not american but from what i've seen there are a lot of people who are really fanatical in their enthusiasm for turmp, they almost treat him like a messianic figure. turning him into a martyr now would push their zealotry to the next level, and i don't think the establishment wants that to happen.
