Somehow I suspect our thread mod might welcome the relief of One Piece after this week.

Nice chapter. Good to see Luffy remains friend to all animals not on his menu.

Highlight for me.she also looks so much better with that cut, though I still prefer the more angular form of her face from pre timeskip compared to her more softer look.

So help me fucking God if Robin is denied her reunion with Saul.

Loki has talked shit about Shanks so he's already in Luffy's fuck you list, so I don't expect him to free Loki.

Alot of moving pieces this chapter, kind of transitional but I'm hype.

Did Luffy learn something? Yes as we saw in Mocktown.

Does he care to apply what he learned evenly? NOPE.

Edit : Also if Robin does not get to meet Saul again we burn it all down.

After how long Thriller Bark dragged on (the first time I noticed slowdown was back on Skypiea), I'm really NOT looking forward to how much time the anime will waste with Impel Down. I'm considering calling quits on the anime as soon as Sabaody ends because it also means no more comfy adventures with the whole crew, and just continuing with the manga.

so what you’re saying is that we’re going to have a villain on the warpath because Luffy is an idiot. I’m gonna predict there’s a damn good reason Loki is chained to a tree, and I’ve kind of been anticipating there’ll come a time when Luffy’s naïveté will be used against him.

There IS a time coming, actually: Luffy granted Caribou safe passage off Wano and didn't register him as a threat (to the point of taking him at his word that he changed) and now he's on his way to Niggobeard with intel about the Ancient Weapons (and will probably be killed by the Blackbeard Pirates anyway for kicks)..

Also note Loki's (and the attitude of the Elbaph Giants in general) towards Shanks and the timeline of his imprisonment, his being chained up lines up with the time Shanks started to be called one of the Four Emperors (6 years before the present day).

He's a dumbass with a bottomless pit for a stomach like Luffy. Giant-Sanji chained him to the tree to keep him from raiding the fridge at night; all tension and negative feelings coming from him are because Loki is being pissy at being denied a literal boatload of semla or whatever his equivalent of meat happens to be.

I actually think that Loki might badmouth Shanks enough that Luffy wants a real fight and lets him go so it's a fair one and as soon as he free Loki is like "Thanks Loser" and nopes out.
 
Luffy probably wasn't listening to Loki when the animals showed up and he Conqueror's Haki'd them or whatever, and he only perked up when Shanks got brought up. But Loki's gonna get freed at some point, we have to see his Devil Fruit powers and see what he means by being the sun god.

I have to assume the payoff is revealing that Loki is a faker once Luffy uses Gear 5.

And while explaining this the New Giant Pirates feed Luffy..so when Loki harms Harjun it Angers Luffy enough that Luffy yeets Loki into the sun because they gave Luffy food.
