I'll be the first to say, I'm not a fan of the guy, but at the same time, I understand this reaction. It was stupid as hell, but if I saw a green-haired bitch roll up on my doorstep after receiving death-threats for days, I certainly would be on edge. Him taking the phone would probably constitute larceny, but I'm not sure if an assault charge would stick, depending on the intent of the door-knocker, which is pretty obvious if you just look at Twitter. Basically this. Nick is legally required to ask someone on his door stop to leave before it's trespassing. This incidentally is why"No Trespassing" signs are a thing. It skips this step entirely. Since he just sucker punched this lady with pepper spray right out the door he's fucking fucked.
