One Piece - I'm Gonna Be the Pirate King!

Randy Troy is officialy retarded and Season 2 might be cooked.
When Grand Line Review politely calls you retarded and says what ypu are saying is bs you know you’ve fucked up.
Honestly, I’d say that the Netflix show is fine because Oda has basically made things clear that he’s overseeing everything and no changes happen without his approval (and even those require a lot of hoops to jump through).

He also doesn't do it arbitrarily for edge lord points.

I have no idea why people still want random character deaths in a post A Song of Ice and Fire revealing itself to be an absolute shit pile world.
I thought it was established that anything edgelord related was put into Gear 4 (mainly to set up Gear 5 being a happy, carefree idiot. Who’s also a god reincarnated).

As for random deaths, I can only assume it’s because the stakes are raised so the death toll has to go up to go along with it, except Oda’s been shown to be very methodical with how he shows death and who he kills off.

That or people REALLY hate the Celestial Dragons, and want them to get their karma before Oda metaphorically schedules it.

I kinda wonder if certain near-deaths (like Totto Land nearly getting crushed) happen because there was a way to prevent a tragedy or it just wasn't fated to end. Like Ace's death is tragic and still leaves an impact because Luffy did everything he could then only to end up in a situation he couldn't get out of by himself, and Ace chose to save him, proving he had a reason to live all along. While Lulucia Kingdom may-or-may-not have deserved it, it just happened to be unlucky.

The world of One Piece is absolutely dystopian to live in, but it doesn't necessarily mean death is always the answer and that there isn't a way to find happiness.

You mean Game of Thrones. ASOIF does not have random deaths. Everyone says he does but he doesn’t.
Wellllll Not "Random" but Fat Fuck is such a poor writer who is so absolutely scared of having his plot actually go anywhere that any time a good guy gets close to accomplishing something..they get betrayed and murdered. The Red Wedding is a really cool "Gatcha" moment..but it is where the series begins to go to absolute fucking shit because from that moment on the plot slows to a crawl because one of the two main characters is fucking dead.

Game of Thrones pushed it into the stratosphere, but once you see it in the TV series it's really hard to reread the books and not see that it is the same bad habits..except more subtle.

Martin is a fucking hack.

I don't think Gear 4 is "Edge Lord"

Boundman is fucking Silly on a conceptual Level, Luffy literally can't not bounce when in it.

Tank Man is the Super form of the thing that he has done with bullets since Captain Morgan's troops shot him and he flung the bullets back.

Snake man is the upgraded form of the hilarious bullshit he did to negate Enel's Observation Haki except now he can bounce the attacks fast enough that it works.

As for when Oda kills people..he kills people when it actually matters..and honestly I think his reluctance to kill people is a GOOD thing.

What would have killing Wapol really accomplish compared to having him come back and be Vivi's foil while she is on a side plot?

What would have killing Pell accomplished? Crocodile's ass was already beat by the time the Bomb was going off so even if Pell died it wouldn't have mattered because Crocodile was already not a threat.

Ace, Pedro and Yasuie all died doing things that were important to the plot.

I can’t wait for him to be one of the heroic figures and to go down as good ruler. Just to see Randy eat crow now.

Also. Wapol. Successful buisness man, ran a country. Discovers the world is ruled by literal demons and teams up with the really important female political figure everyone likes and the dude that runs the news - that when the Gov told him to do what they wanted told them to go pound sand - and together are going to end up making the world better…

Every time they say ‘character is Drumpf’ they alwsys get it right for reasons they don’t understand. And they never realise that paints Trump as gold.

I bet Vivi has a policy that would make the new OP Community hate her to death…

I am 100% sure that once Robin explains the Poneglyphs, Vivi would be for translating them and letting the information be completely distributed.

Vivi is for Subverting Government Speech Controls, that is Verboten today.

Fuckboi who has no knowledge of history thinks that Trump was always hated and everyone knew his policies from the start. He forgets that Trump was mostly a democrat during that time and that he was very in line with what the party was at the time before they went crazy. The Trump we know today was not a thing back then for Oda to base of anyone on him.

It's impressive that this fellow both didn't get the talking point that the Drumpf joke is racist now, because it specifically targets migrants westerning their names, and also doesn't realise that especially when it comes to older villains who were comedic Oda quite likes making them do relevant stuff later. Multiple members of Baroque Works have saved Luffy, Buggy's relevance to the plot may never end, even Helmeppo got stuff to do.

Never assume Oda won't do something with a character again. Especially when going "they're meant to be this person I don't like!"

He was one, just because he was a democrat, his "failures were forgotten and he carried business being the best friends with all of hollywood and the media. But now he's "changed" , they're comfortable scorning him(due to their gullibility).

I have just assumed for decades that every important figure introduce before Skypiea was going to be brought back later.
In the middle of the final battle, Enel arrives with a Bolt of Lightning and gains everyone's attention.

Enel : "PEOPLE OF THE BLUE SEA..I Have a message from the Moon....NI" *Enel gets shot by Imu*
Everyone else : "Was he gonna drop a Racial Slur...or reveal a secret about Nika?"

@Honka Honka Burning Love Even of Gear 4 isn’t edge lord, it may end up being the closest we get since all those Gear 4 Forms have him super angry and scowling in a way that it seems connected to the form, along having his limbs coated in black. Almost like Street Fighter’s Evil Ryu.

Reminds me of a line from the live action’s Honest Trailer: You’re a pirate, you’re a Marine, or you’re fucked.

Even then, Fuckboi over here acts like Oda read the tea leaves and predicted that Trump would be the greatest enemy of the Dems many years in the future. Those mental gymnastics should give him the gold medal. Also, here is a thought: What will happen if Oda refuses to make Wapol a Trump parody? Will he be crucified? Will Randyboi throw a fit?

Yep, it's BEEN a new level of crazy. The patting on the ass by commenters giddy to see people "higher" than them talk about "their own" series and replaying them over "oda is a 5d chess god" affects them as well. These zealotic minds would rather kill themselves than admit oda just simply retconned a point or dared to not immediately have every panel planned out after not ending it in 5 years.

You know what’s funny? Much of the One Piece theorists have basically been a practitioner of claiming that “they read tea leaves left by Oda”, and now we got claims of Oda reading tea leaves. Also, I have to think that Oda would only see Donald Trump as “generic asshole 80s/90s businessman”, kind of like how he was on The Apprentice (and it ain’t like Trump was the only one in that mold).

I’ve started to grow on the idea that The One Piece is something that can let the average schmuck read the Poneglyphs without thousands of years of study like Ohara. It’s either that, or a power to surpass devil fruits, to surpass Metal Gear. Or some regalia that represents the great ancient kingdom. (honestly, it all depends on whether or not the final war is finished before the treasure is found if you ask me).

At this point, My bet would be The One Piece being more than one thing and we only saw the very end of the exploration of the island.
