Beyond the issue of impossibility, a big issue is actually the pool of doctors they have to pull from. Any endocrinologist worth their salt would never simplify sexual hormones down to "remove testosterone and you get a girl". The issue is the only quacks willing to do this shit are, well, quacks. You answered your own question with your last sentence: These treatments are all brand new with a small and poorly controlled patient population, so there are liable to be a large number of treatment regimens out there with flimsy to no justification or track record. This isn't like feeding potions to a character on the screen. Any side effects will be amplified over time. It can permanently affect organ functions, not overnight but cumulatively.

And the worst part is that, whatever happens to him, will be used in the research of this test, despite there is nothing that indicates us that the same result can be expected in another subject because they aren't testing the treatments, they are testing how much random people can tolerate.

These kids have all different combinations of hormone cocktails. And people in general can react different to the same medicine due to their own hormones and development. A friend of mine and I take the exact same anti allergic and it makes me sleepy, but makes her hyperactive.

Jazz is now likely taking Ozempic. There is no way that is not affecting his body in a different way than other people taking it because he also takes like a dozen pills.
