Wtf is sentry spamming? How do you get banned for that?
Never lvl3 sentried underwater on cp_orange award (need dispenser to offset drowning)

Never spawn camped with said underwater sentry on cp_orange award

Never got a friend to back up your sentry with his sentry award

Never pissed off the cp_orange janny award

Never hid a level 3 teleporter next to enemies spawn on cp_orange award

Never got sniper players issuing death threats because they can't reach their camping spot award

I miss airshots. It was such a cool thing to aim for. Even if you play against complete retards, you can aim for reflects and airshots. No match is ever wasted; you can always aim for something cool. I think that's what TF2 got that other team fps games don't. You can't do cool wacky shit in halo. You will get 2 kills and die. Repeat.

Wasn't zesty doing a whole large video about how shitty matchmaking is? Gonna be really awkward timing if that's the case even if there are still issues with MM today.
I will once again refer to this post:
What we lost because of Casual matchmaking:
  • Ability to choose your own teams (and at anytime)
  • Ability to spectate (cheaters are more noticeable)
  • Team Scramble (unbalanced game? just vote for a scramble)
  • Extend Map Time (being able to play on the same map as long as you like)
  • No round limit
  • More filled servers (autobalance and low-player count servers were less of an issue)
  • No pre-round timer and constant time wasting
  • Payload Race and other misc gamemodes (Casual matchmaking effectively killed these)
  • Beta maps (RIP rd_asteroid and pl_cactuscanyon)
  • Less relevant maps (people were forced to play on maps that aren't Badwater/Upward/Dustbowl by choosing based on gamemodes and not maps, letting them get an equal opportunity)
  • Ad-hoc connections (being able to connect to Valve servers via the community server browser)
  • Easily joining a friend's server by clicking their profile and hitting 'Join Game'
  • Faster server finder (matchmaking takes forever to find a match at times)
  • Cheater bot-free matches (they were non-existent before casual matchmaking was added, but appeared within the first week of MYM launching)
  • No competitive ELO system (ironically resulted in more balanced teams)
  • Death of a thousand community servers

Also, his video is a thorough deep dive into MYM and it's consequences; not specifically Casual matchmaking.

  • Added error messages when being ejected from the matchmaking queue due to connectivity or authentication failures, rather than the queue simply silently vanishing
Thank you Valve, very cool.

Out of nowhere
out of nowhere my ass, the cunts realized that they have overloaded the game with garbage maps and realized that people were getting fucked up from it big time, so instead of doing the impossible thing of reverting back to quickplay and/or fucking off the unoptimized event maps that nobody plays we get this instead.

valve's incompetence is truly something to behold really, these changes could have been implemented shortly after adding matchmaking, but who gives a shit about not fucking your customers up, am i right?

e: bookmarked zesty's take on this """""update"""""

i've brought it up in the community thread and i bring it here as well, this cunt was at it even before this mask off moment and he was still very unprofessional about these announcements

Did Valve hand over aspects of the game to random TF2 fans or is that an actual Valve employee?
actual valve employee, it's most likely the tranny behind the 64-bit port since there aren't many other possible suspects
