To be fair to Colbert, conservatives who came on his show and understood the joke were welcomed back all the time. They would laugh with him, plug their thing, and it was a good time. Colbert was never cruel, he was doing a bit and some pundits went on the show without doing an ounce of research. He was a different guy back then. He did his Colbert Report show he made fun of Fox news but it had a friendlier message to it, like he was just lampooning people he simply disagreed with. The Colbert of today doesn't have that element of friendliness to him, he's a bitter and angry alarmist. Turned into the very thing he was trying to parody all those years ago.
Yeah, Jones just wouldn't let the state give him a fair trail. They really really wanted to though. You can tell.
Isn't Pelosi old as balls? She may not have enough time to groom a successorI get that she got boned by Weiner getting #MeToo'd but there is literally no better project she could dedicate herself to for the next few years than grooming a successor (hell, I'm skeptical the House would vote in a rookie but she could even try to find a person in the SF area to replace her and even make a leadership run) and giving the party some kind of pivot for better electability.
It's weird that I actively want them to lose and am still frustrated at how badly they're blowing it.
I don't think too many people would defend Alex if it was a reasonable judgement, 100 million or something that would cripple him. But a billion and a half, fuck off, you are just going to the point where you get someone that doesn't really like Jones to defend the guy.while I do believe alex brought it on himself, also his retarded lawyers didn't help, the gorillion dollar final fine forces me to sympathize with him despite his antics. If they had kept it to something even like half a billion I could maybe buy it but 1.4 billion leaves a real sour taste in my mouth seeing.
If the need a woman, they might as well run Elizabeth Warren, who at least has populist street cred and a known commodity. And while Warren is a cunt, she's openly a cunt and doesn't hide it whereas Whitmer is an Umridge type cunt who who hides it under "good publicity" and will do all sorts of evil shit to avoid the consequences of her cunt behavior.
She's about 3 years past the average female life expectancy in the country, but a) she's rich, and b) if she's filing for the 2026 election already doing what I suggested would probably be the responsible thing over actually, seriously running for reelection and trying to Feinstein her way out of office.Isn't Pelosi old as balls? She may not have enough time to groom a successor
She told a blatant lie for decades that she was Cherokee. Then, when she got caught, she kept lying until Sean Hannity and fucking Howie Carr got hard evidence of her lying, of using that lying to get ahead professionally, and she looked like a fool.I dont know why she gets shit on so much
STALIN’S LANGUAGE!I still can't believe that I used to be a fan of Steven Colbert.
He is a malignant tumor of a human being.
Skibidi Biden is his most desperate moment. However, I still think his covid vaccine shilling is the lowest point of entertainment. Colbert would make the Soviet Union proud with the amount of propaganda.
There's a theory I have that the reason you used to see a lot of "great men" or at least very impressive men in the past was because brushes with death were more common and especially at a young age. If you read biographies of a lot of great figures they almost all had a brush with death or closeness to death at a relatively young age. James K Polk, Teddy Roosevelt, Washington, William Hope Hodgson, Hitler, etc.One thing that strikes me about this coming administration is how much of a reckoning it feels like. It just feels from the start like such a different beast compared to anything that came before. I remember listening to his appearance on joe rogan, that he went in underprepared in his first term, and just had to deal with too many people who were "in the swamp" taking up places because he didn't have anyone else for that position. And it feels like he spent pretty much all of the four years since 2020 correcting that.
And I think that failed assassination attempt was what really changed things. People, like null, have accused him of not really caring that much about fixing the country. And I think that is right to an extent before that shooting happened. People change a lot when they have a brush with death, and I think it changed trump a bit as a person. Before, it was just the boiling of the frog, people trying to defame you and tear you down through all the soft means. But when they took that shot, it was no longer a low boil and instead lighting a fire. He saw that an act of god had saved him, and that people who came out to support him were now dead. Dead, because of the news media and the swamp you were fighting against kept igniting hatred and vitriol.
The libshits are fucking terrified right now, because they fear this man doing 5% to them what they have done to him.
my fucking grandma who came from the ozarks of Missouri told that exact same lie. In the fucking midwest you d find no shortage of people who were told they had some Indian blood in them. She told a blatant lie for decades that she was Cherokee. Then, when she got caught, she kept lying until Sean Hannity and fucking Howie Carr got hard evidence of her lying, of using that lying to get ahead professionally, and she looked like a fool.
I’d believe it. Nothing gives your life more value, a better sense of purpose, than nearly losing it.There's a theory I have that the reason you used to see a lot of "great men" or at least very impressive men in the past was because brushes with death were more common and especially at a young age. Trump is the new Greatest Story Ever Told.I know this has been said to death, but it's so crazy this happened.

I don't understand how you can see this and not think that Trump is somehow protected by God.
Warren did not just tell "family stories." She used her "Native American" status to get hired as a minority.my fucking grandma who came from the ozarks of Missouri told that exact same lie. In the fucking midwest you d find no shortage of people who were told they had some Indian blood in them.
And just like waren when one of my cousins did the dna/genealogy work it turns out there was some marrying into a indian family in the 1800s but no indian blood.
Its no fucking different than me going only by the different family stories and various family names a claim my from some this or that country when we really are amerimut.
So shitting on her for that is just fucking weird. IMO.
The election was a week and a half ago. This won't win them a fucking thing and they're airing their dirty laundry. The machine is working overtime. It's so blatant this time and the race has been called you would have thought they wouldn't do it. There is video of them saying they know they aren't legit ballots but are accounting anyways.

Well some people just don't think there is a god. For them I guess they would say it was an insane happenstance that changed history as we know it. This would be history book shit if schools weren't pozzed.I know this has been said to death, but it's so crazy this happened.

That seems to be pretty much what all of his picks are, from Tulsi being the one to rip into the greater intel community, down to the cheong (spelling) being his coms guy after doing such great work on trump's social media.Trump is giving him the opportunity to operate with his biggest strengths.
Perhaps they both want to show that the no holds barred bluster in the lead up to the election is over and they are willing to put that aside and be civil with each other during the transition period. As someone else, said (perhaps it was @Gehenna), Trump had a relative with Alzheimers, so he knows not to be unduly antagonistic with someone who clearly is slipping mentally and both are willing to bury the hatchet for now - even f it's just for good optics.3 weeks ago he was calling him a fascist who was going to destroy the world and now he's congratulating him, laughing and smiling.
When discussing RFK's position with someone else, we agreed that as much as we disagree with som eof his stances, it's hard not to disagree with his statement that America does need to become more healthy. More on that later. What a beautiful, based AF lady.
I can't help thinking there are obstructionists and contrarians waiting in the shadows to stymie Trumps o they can claim he accomplished jack shit in his second term when he has plenty he wants to get accomplishedAll we can hope for now is for Congress to play ball. If that happens, we might see the most well oiled and productive four years this country's government has ever seen.
This is indicative of a bigger point: Politics is so nuanced, that it can't be viewed in black and white; there are too many shades of gray. Saying someone who voted for the "other guy" deserves to be canceled is short sighted because there may be legitimate reasons to vote for that person - something the people screeching on social media fail to comprehend. My point is that I am skeptical of claims that one side represents the people (not calling you out, @LurkTrawl just using your post as means to discuss the issue) because the American people have vast, varied, and often conflicting interests.
There's so much doom about Covid it has people unnecessarily worked up and uninformed. I recently had it and the urgent care doctor that tested e admitted point blank that Covid testing is a crapshoot at best in terms of getting a reliable and meaningful result. Instead, they go more on what symptoms are present and whether you've been symptom-free for enough days. Too bad most people still freak out over Covid like it's a death sentence when the current strains have been so mild most people mistake them for a common cold or seasonal allergies. The Democrats whipped up everyone into a fucking frenzy about the coof and could not put that genie back in the bottle
I like this comparison because it brings home the point that local issues are ore important in that they affect the average voter more on a day to day basis. That's why voting for mayor, city council, school board are important even if the candidates for higher up positions are so bad one doesn't want to vote for any of them.Imagine a series of concentric circles with a dot in the center that represents you. The next one out the family, then your neighborhood, then your city/municipality, so on and so forth outward. Representing your rough proximity to each concept and its associated power structure.
Anywho anyone know if the tetanus shot is still safe because I got one when I did a little oppsie in the garden with a knife. I am a bit skeptical of vaccines nowadays.
I agree with @0713.No vaccine is 100% safe (or so I heard from Bobby), but that one I would not mess around with not getting.
Special interest groups and their money are likely why we have so many unhealthy by products in our food unlike other countries that have limited or banned them outright because of the negative impact they have on one's health. I wish Kennedy luck in standing up to these special interests; it would be nice to see something positive come from his tenure.Long story short: Americans could be eating better versions of the food they love, but regulation and the market currently doesn’t deliver it to them.
At this point, it’s a combination of spite, pettiness, and a willingness to test the waters. They’re saying, “We’re still corrupt. Legality doesn’t matter to us, we’ll try to muddy the waters whether you like it or not. What are you going to do about it?”The election was a week and a half ago. This won't win them a fucking thing and they're airing their dirty laundry.
