Trump Derangement Syndrome - Orange man bad. Read the OP! (ᴛʜɪs ᴛʜʀᴇᴀᴅ ɪs ʟɪᴋᴇ ᴋɪᴡɪ ғᴀʀᴍs ʀᴇᴠɪᴇᴡs ɴᴏᴡ) 🗿🗿🗿🗿

Haven't been on this thread ever since the 2020 fiasco. Glad to see we're back with style!

Also because the Left is still lie-sobbing about "Muh 20 million votes" - they were going off of the count when outlets started calling Harris being BTFO.

Biden in 2020 got 81,283,501 votes. Harry Kamel got just about 8 million less. Trump got 74,223,975 votes in 2020 so he picked up about 2 million. In 2020 Turd Party got about 2 million, in 2024 they got 3 million. And there is still about 3% of the vote outstanding.

So the voting numbers are only about 5 million difference between 2020 and 2024 (and dropping); Harry Kamel was just that utterly shit of a Candidate + No one was losing their minds in Covid lockdown and willing to vote for whoever would make it stop.

More Starlink vote switching. The clock is ticking, recount now!

You know for all the bloviating about Trump and Elon being Hitler 2 and Himmler 2 respectively, the botted-like retard brigade on Xitter like Evan Loves Worf & Kate Bush's Husband seem to have settled back into their usual routine of posting every hour and getting mysteriously super high liked posts with zero profile growth and 1/10th the proportional engagement.

Of all the people you'd expect to blow their brains out over these guys supposedly taking over the world it'd be the depressed, obsessive, social media addicted gooners hunched over their computers in a dingy New York apartment all day.

Weird stuff.

I can’t remember which topic I heard this in, but by their very natures, lefty accounts and threads tend to be inflammatory rage bait. This creates a lot of ironic engagement despite the lack of profile interaction. Users won’t follow people they dislike but they will tell said people how they feel.

There has to be a way to counter this. Community Notes does a good job of answering silly questions that tend to beg for an obvious answer from people. That hinders most comments.

Another changed that happened was hiding who has liked something so you don’t get crazy people creating #BlockParty s for anybody that likes a particular post. The downside is most of these likes are probably bot farms thanks to anonymity.

Would it be too much to rebuild Twitter from the ground up? The world still needs a central forum, perhaps several. But Dorsey’s app is almost 20 years old.

I'm of the opinion that, much like Youtube, Twitter/X has become too big for actual competition to come up naturally.
Shit like Threads and Bluesky are basically indistinguishable from BlipTV or the other dozen failed youtube rivals in their nature. At this point the only way for a real Twitter alternative is if the actual Twitter is shut down and removed from the market altogether. Twitter itself I don't see undergoing any major overhauls considering every single change that's made seems to make people want to leave more (outside of Community Notes).

Personally, I think that social media is a cancer upon humanity and has made general socialization worse. Blow it all up and burn it all down. Shit is gay.

They're STILL counting too, because some counties are that much of miscreants that they have to slow walk the damn thing. Trump is STILL gaining votes almost every time Decision Desk updates too.

Once it's all said and done, it wouldn't surprise me if Trump got such a massive turnout, establishment historians will be forced to report on how historic it is that a Republican presidential candidate won the popular vote, and with THAT many votes too.

Based cat has an interesting post on why Kamala lost and the reaction from the left

I liked this. It’s a good crystallization of TDS. However, a lot of this could have been said in 2016. What’s changed today are more and more TDS people tuning out WaPo, New York Times, cable news, which is incredible to me. They have walked away from Twitter to other platforms, which also could not have been said in 2016.

That’s probably the best bit from this piece: If they are walking away, and want to build their own spaces, let them.
