My view towards Aaron is simple.
He might not be the worst person involved, but he’s far from innocent. He was still laying in bed with the polycule while the kids were neglected. He was still busy making snow angels with Kayla while the kids needed food and a clean home. Sure he left, but he left too late. And he clearly saw no problem as never once did he tell us a story about him trying to get the Rekieta’s to pay attention to their children.
Frankly I think the info he's dumping has been mostly to spite Nick just as Nick is eager to talk about Aaron eating his cum. Yeah, that reads to me like Nick isn't tracking his spending all that carefully, and when there's thousands of dollars of "blow money" missing because he doesn't fucking remember, he assumes it's gone because of snacks and him being a great dad. It's not necessarily the hundred miles so much as it is a hundred miles plus driving back and forth dropping off, picking up, etc etc. I'm a parent of 3. First off, having to drive your kids places on a regular basis is something every single decent parent (and many shitty ones) have to deal with. He's acting like he is unique here.
Secondly, if driving is having this much of an impact on your life.... Just fucking move.
At least until recently, he was very wealthy with a successful YouTube channel and a trust fund. The kids are homeschooled. They haven't even been in that house too long. Aaron is a great example of the 'banality of evil'. It took a catastrophic series of events for him to realise what was happening in the Rekieta household, and this reflection only happened because he felt a need to protect himself from the fallout. Had he and the Rekietas drifted away amicably, he wouldn't have seen a problem with what happened, and he wouldn't have spared a thought for the kids. It's telling that his main story involving them featured him cooking some spaghettios and not making a serious attempt to get them help. At the time it was just an incidental event to him, and it was only later it became useful for his narrative.
At the end of the day, I don't think he's a bad guy at heart, but he's absolutely the type to 'just be following orders' of others, a non-entity. Ironically, having a horde of alogs might be the best thing for him, granting him a sense of morality by proxy. He can just see what Melton supports and know exactly what not to do.
On the coke stuff: my understanding is that the child endangerment charge is de facto when there are drugs in the presence of kids. If it was found the child was a habitual user, wouldn't there be an additional or upgraded charge related to recklessness, neglect, etc? Honest question. I'm not getting why the charge sheet isn't reflecting the reality of a kid ingesting cocaine. I know Kayla caught a charge along those lines but that was before the hair result came back.
