"Mama's Sleeping Angels is a game about kissing and decapitating your friends" because the morons who made this have no personal boundaries and can barely tell the difference between a friend and a lover, and cross that line all the time.

No, not quite. There's always people who enjoy being edgelords, and worse, there will always be troons that jerk off to it. :c

Some MTFs and FtMs are just horror fans who don't have deep thoughts and are self centered so they go to body horror. It freaks out the normies and more importantly, affects them. Some MtFs and a few FtMs have transformation or gore fetishes, and they can happen in this extreme way.

Lastly, autistic people can feel detatched from their body's functions, and several different types of mental health issues can have disassociation as a symptom. People like this don't always find body horror scary but sometimes as an aesthetic or something odd since they aren't always in touch with their own body.
As a horror fanatic and writer/artist myself. I miss when everything scary wasn’t a fetish damnit, blood and gore, body horror, being eaten alive, necrophilia stories, evil childbirth, electrocution… ect. it lost its edge years ago and whenever I see something like slither I make a deviant art joke or that scene in beetlejuice 2. The internet really killed horror. hell there’s a stonetoss comic about this effect

y2k hardly has a style other than brown-core or bloom-core. Pre-PBR where everything looked like glossy plastic due to relatively simple specular shading. This is actually how CyberChud looks, it doesn't even have specular maps, everything has the same specular value.
There's a specific sort of style that used to be/still is referred to as "y2k" by people that was a thing from like the late 90s to like the mid 2000s. The earlier comment about zoolander s partly accurate but like for a lack of a better way of describing it was kind of a bizzare mashup of all the previous 5 or 6 decades' styles mashed into a surreal future that was somehow extremely removed from yet also attached to the past. SO you had 40s-60s retrofuturism shit, simplified blocky utilitarian shit and musical inspration from like the 70s and 80s, and neon lighting shit that was really popular throughout the 80s and 90s. Rythm games from around the time period were full of that stuff.

Usage of it as a word in marketing and online use in general seems to have changed recently. Between the faux retro games that don't get why people liked the games they emulate, and shit like this abhorrent replacement of a fortnite POI (the shark) wth a "Y2K style experience hosted by ice spice" that's just a fucking run down mall with Y2K written on the walls and containing stuff you see in malls.
Words cannot describe the amount of rage and hatred I have seen amidst gamers of all ages for this addition/revision. It's the combo of "industry plant" mixed with "framing malls as y2k" and a shitload of other factors. If they just had a mall POI that looked like this I think it would have been received well. It's the combo of replacing the shark and Ice spice existing that threw people over the edge. the BS claim of "y2k" is just icing on the shit sundae.

Fucking hell the snoop dogg POI is infnitely more y2k than the thing advertised as Y2k. Look at the fucking thing! It's all flat white surfaces and curves with gold chrome palm trees and statues and shit.

I'm probably talking completely out of my ass here, but why are trannies so obsessed with the "aesthetic" of fishing? All while never actually fishing, mind you. Even before this game came out I've run across multiple troons (and a couple pooners) who are obsessed with memes about fish and fishing. Meanwhile in reality I'm yet to meet any shrimpy lil doods or gigahons in maid dresses out on the river.
Because they don't go out ever, they just sit on the PC feeling the "vibes" from random pastoralist photos on their social media feed while imagining they are anime girls. Its dissociation fodder for pod people.

with presumably his face (looking like a fairly normal guy) in the profile picture
Looks like I called this one wrong. Maybe it'll be like Psychopomp where its fans consist of the usual suspects but the game itself isn't too terrible.

Perhaps YiiK was ahead of its time, predicting how badly the Y2K aesthetic was gonna be abused

These are the hidden channels where werst chats, which explains why his messages are relatively sparse in the server.

I am not about to shill 5 dollars to see the chat. Maybe in a month. Alternatively you chat until you get level 5 and they grant you the NORMAL role which unlocks the chat.

he's too perfect of a stereotype, I choose to believe that this is an elaborate larp.
I looked into this guy further and, unsurprisingly, he makes porn. potentially groomed into it judging by comments on his earlier videos begging him to make porn. he truly is a living, breathing, stereotype.

At this point, finding a furfag who doesn't make or consume porn is like finding a unicorn aka never happening.

Genuinely can someone explain to me what the fuck Y2K aesthetics are? People are showing examples of this and I'm struggling to find a coherent theme between everything.
Stuff like frutiger aero and the industrial design trends of the time like transparent imacs.

Just like with 90s stuff there is a big disconnect on what vague idea people sort of get from advertisements and music videos of the time and how stuff actually looked on a daily basis, most people were not dressed like they were in a Destiny's Child video, the actual y2k trends were more understated. Its mostly just an excuse to sell random Temu crap to zoomers who were not even born yet in the year 2000

Sperg moment but Y2K and Frutiger Aero share elements but are not the same thing.

The "Frutiger Aero community" is mostly children, as opposed to Y2K trannies. Both aesthetics refer to design trends in technology and futurism (in Y2K's case it also applies to fashion), though people have (wrongly) broadened them to cover everything in those time periods, as if there was some general unifying aesthetic in those years. In both cases, the communities were started by nostalgiafags, and these people were eventually pushed out by a horde of retards who either were very young when these aesthetics were relevant, or weren't even alive and just find them "cool", playing with them and perverting them how they please. Both are grotesque imitations of how things actually were back then, though more well-intentioned yet misguided in Frutiger Aero's case. Y2K's is a bit more insidious.

The trailer looks like an uglier version of every Kitty Horrorshow set piece.

Wait a minute. It all makes sense now.

Kitty Horrorshow could potentially hold the title for the originator of the troonslop trend. Horrorshow is a trans (big surprise) game dev was astroturfed into popularity via a suspiciously large number of interviews and articles from all the usual suspects in gaming journalism as well as unexpected places like VICE, Slate, and Financial Times (really). The wikipedia page has a good archive of articles. Horrorshow's games are low-polly, retro style, interactive fiction, horror walking simulators, the most famous of which are CHYRZA (2014) and Anatomy (2016). Markiplier played through Anatomy in 2020 and a lot of other gaming channels followed, which is probably why there is a resurgence of articles/interest in Horrorshow at that time. Based on those dates, those games could be potential progenitors of this trend. Or at least demonstrate this style is a potentially astroturfed phenomenon.

You also have to consider how in these spaces people don’t like how “flat” everything is these days.

It’s easy to see why, back then the people in charge of the design actually put effort into making use of what they could do with newer hardware. Nowadays it’s all designed by a bunch of poojeets who get paid to do the bare minimum

Reactions: Big Fish
Thunk provoking, however while it may be a close contender to being the predecessor of the Troonslop that came after it, I'd wager a decent guess that the games developed by Puppet Combo are what really got the PS1 slop ball rolling.
1731897161301.png

Puppet Combo is a game development group founded in 2012 that are most well known for horror games such as Babysitter Bloodbath (2013), Powerdrill Massacre (2015), The Night Ripper (2017), Nun Massacre (2018), among other games they managed to pump out.
Gameplay below of each:
To say that their games "replicate" the PS1 "aesthetic" would be putting it very generously, as while it features some hallmarks of what made PS1 games look that way (the pixelated + warping textures), they have absolutely no regard for trying to keep it realistic in terms of making it look like a convincing PS1-like (this is especially egregious when there are vent sections in their games and you can see the textures warp as you crawl through, every PS1 gamedev back then would be cringing that PC would let this slide since they didn't WANT that shit in their games and TRIED to mitigate it as much as they could).
They're also infamous for slapping on a VHS filter/static for every game they release, all for aesthetic purposes really but not at all fitting for the timeframe of the console they're "riffing".

I can't say whether or not Puppet Combo are solely responsible for trannies latching onto PS1 graphics, but what I can say is that their games got a lot of eyes on them from Gaming Youtubers, as well as going the Scott Cawthon route of pumping out multiple games yearly.
This is all that they released on their wikipedia page alone:
XLVTXFrGI3.pnglXnNxrKyQW.png
Now despite all of that I have not heard of any troon developers on their team (then again I hardly know much about them personally other than surface level knowledge of the games they put out), and despite their "attempt" at making "PS1-likes", their games never came off like they were made by troons. Most of them feature 80s slasher film plot points: a serial killer is out committing murder against those who come into contact with them and the victims need to find a way to escape. All presented in a kind of campy way that I cannot say the same for games like ULTRAKILL or Webfishing; despite the latter "supposed" to be kinda campy lol.
I thought I'd bring them up since they're point of interest for this kind of discussion and I want to know if you have anything to say about them; any dramas or info that I'm not aware of since I can't imagine a developer group that's lasted for over a decade go without some kind of shitflinging happening along the way.

Skeuomorphism was common in UI design in the late 90s. Ironically I consider "Y2K" (pre-2004) to be part of the "late 90s", and that the "2000s" actually started in 2004 with 720p/1080i HDTVs starting to become common.

If trannies really want to bring back "old" looks, they should bring back the flat, glassy, square, sleek Windows 8-10 Metro UI look.

1731919730985.png

Its honestly a shame that Microsoft abandoned this UI design so early, as it had a lot of potential. Also, unlike the PS1 artstyle, this look actually ages well.

This thing is a whole-ass franchise. There's also a tabletop roleplaying game, also Kickstarter-funded, that raised even more cash (31 thousand dollars). The description starts like this:

This Kickstarter, too, contains lovely descriptions of the game's developers.

This is advanced troonslop.

OFC its copy paste PbtA slop. Mfs can't even make their own ttrpg rules. Instead copy pasting their troonslop setting on the most basic and gay existing ruleset.
