I think you're forgetting how little of fatty's own diatribe they used, and how chopped up what little they used was. That's with extremely sympathetic (if only for political reasons) journos calling the shots. I just want you to imagine a particularly incensed fatty being grilled by opposing counsel for hours, constantly waffling worse than a politician through every question, probably raising his voice and getting exceptionally petulant multiple times. Every lie he tries telling gets countered, and he starts trying to interrupt everyone, possibly even the judge. Do you really think people are going to find him sympathetic in that circumstance?

I would make some outside bets on that. I bet he's not half as abrasive as he was in the Andrew case, where he thought the judge would collapse sobbing at Rick's lies and immediately imprison Andrew for 5000 years because who wouldn't lock such a violent terrorist cultist away forever? Here his opponent is the cops who most people will see as just doing their jobs. His ego was devastated by the humiliation in the Andrew case, he might actually half behave himself and avoid childing anyone this time. This is also last chance saloon for Rick. No way in hell is Lynn funding another lolsuit if he doesn't get a payout here. God only knows what kind of ultimatum he's facing if he loses another 5 figure sum. He is going to be way more guarded than he was against Quasi and Andrew. I still think he'll lose, we just probably won't get a "sir, don't do that" moment again. He has next to zero impulse control, and cannot handle the slightest pushback or disagreement. He may have learnt from that first encounter, but he still is fatrick deep down. He'll be on the stand and having a very antagonistic defence attorney prodding him, and more importantly, calling out his lies. We all know nothing riles up the pigger more than having his personal failures or lies called out. He'll try to keep composed but I doubt he'll contain it.
