The Game Awards 2024 (December 12) - Its 10 year anniversary

I got Senua's Saga last year for Christmas, never played it. Any good?
And I hope CaseOh wins just so he go onstage and everyone starts chanting fat slurs and jokes at him. I wanna see how he takes it when he's not on the other side of a screen.

ETA: How the fuck is Shadow of Erd Tree or whatever a contender for game of the year when it's a fucking DLC/expansion pack? That's not a full game.

>Infinite Wealth best narrative
>Yakuzamazon best adaptation

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Industry awards shows are like congress voting - the people's opinions don't matter, it's all determined by corporations buying the votes of the committees. You bribe the judges more to have your gay shitty game get the award than the other retards, you get the award. Same as the Oscars in Pedowood.

It's all just gay advertising, don't take it super cereal.

GOTY: Shadow Of The Erdtree and even that sucked. Progression system was absolute dogshit. Metaphor is acceptable
Direction: none of these games have good direction
Narrative: metaphor will probably win. I liked Hellblade 2s narrative though, especially it outright shitting on Hegel
Art: Should be Metaphor but will be Astobot
Score: Metaphor
Audio Design: Hellblade should win this, it's the games entire gimmick and it's done well
Performance: Melina Juergens should win this despite her performance being lackluster compared to Hellblade 1. The competition are insanely boring
Action: Space Marine 2
RPG: anything but Dragons Dogma 2, what a piece of shit disappointment
Most anticipated: none of these shit picks. Though I do look forward to the utter retardation of Death Stranding 2. How will kojima top delivering nigger cum as a mission?

Every year I tell myself I won't bother watching this bullshit, and every year I end up suffering through it anyway in case something piques my interest for 30 seconds.

I wonder if I can stop the cycle of self-abuse this year. I've no interest in 90% of the titles nominated in any of the categories this time.

I just watch it hoping there will be even one game announced that interests me. It probably won’t happen though. Armored core 6 in 2022 was a surprise.

A couple words come to mind for Senua's Saga - Walking Simulator.

Holy shit I have no clue how they manage to make it worse and even more cringe every year.

Regardless I might try and make a 2 day long typed out effort post showcasing every mod and game that I, ME personally saw as interesting and not filled with a bunch of fucking schlok but that's if I remember lol. Reason as to why is because if you read my posts in video game general I do announcements every so often when I'm satisfied with having enough info to make like a page long post. An example would be something like me posting a mod and sometimes putting links out for prototypes like this one here
Did you know that spec ops the line had a full 2 years worth of multi-player development at some point? Neither did I.

The precedent has been established in the past that DLCs are eligible (e.g., Witcher 3’s dlc won best RPG in 2016 and last year we had Zelda TOTK in the running for GOTY which basically was a glorified Expansion).

It’s a glorified tech demo like Stray (which at least had the appeal of cats as a selling point).
