Benjamin Franklin would be sickened by our modern society who clamor so for perceived safety and trust their liberty in the hands of unelected bureaucrats they'll never know.
If Benjamin Franklin was alive today, he'd take all these old ass harpies with TDS and try to slap some sense to them. I'm sure he'd get ALL the Republican women that voted for Trump.

Candidly, I don't think it's necessarily HCFS as an ingredient - it's the sheer scalability of the product that allowed junk food to become so ubiquitous. Ultra-processed food can be produced in bulk, lasts much longer, and is generally is much easier to eat in major quantities.
Fructose gets broken down into sucrose and glucose. Sucrose is just bad for you. Doesn't matter if you're getting it from cane sugar directly or breaking down fructose. What HFCS does is allow us to produce sugar cheaply and at insane scales. Without it, you wouldn't have free unlimited refills at McDonald's or be able to buy a half liter bottle at the gas station for a couple bucks.

Alcohol wasn't the problem; addiction and lack of self control was the problem. Outlawing alcohol just caused more problems than what it's worth.

Well kinda. The point was to lower alcoholism rates. It worked. The problem was it also created massive crime spree from the underground sale of alcohol.

If Franklin were alive today he'd see all those Tik Toks of hot little things of all ages doing the Trump dance and he'd be on that shit like white on rice. When you understand game you understand game

California, New York and Massachusetts need to stay blue, and Republicans need to create policies that self deport people there from their own states.
Republicans in California need to move to Nevada and Arizona.
The Republican exodus from California to Arizona and Nevada finally showed up in the presidential election results this year

Next time governor and Senate seats are up in those states it will show up there too

Did this faggot seriously type out "FAFO" in regards to not having thanksgiving with his aunt?

Voting Trump now counts as "fucking around"? Is this psycho implying he's going to murder his aunt in the near future?
These people would legit kill their family members over voting Trump/right-wing if they knew they'd get away with it scot-free. They desperately want The Purge to be real for the Right Side™.

Hey you should acknowledge and thank the Democrats for all of the hard work they've put in making themselves completely fucking unelectable. It's not all Don's fault, arguably he's not even done all that much other than exist, as far as that specific metric is concerned. It's not like he ever forced anyone to act like a fucking lunatic.
Thanking the Democrats for enacting awful policies is akin to thanking the adult who beat you as a child or the mugger who hit you from behind. Without someone to knock you down, how could you have gotten up?

I get the tongue-in-cheek point you're making of course - that they helped Trump get elected by making him seem so much better. The thing is though, I think the fact that Trump did win is leading people to neglect how hard winning was. The guy played a tremendously savvy political game - over and over he'd turn his opponents' attacks to his own advantage. The guy could get 10 million retweets by simply typing "covofe" (which I'm sure was deliberate). And he showed tremendous mental endurance - dragged through the courts for crimes nobody else would be, name dirtied in every way possible, made the most hated figure in America by huge swathes of the population, called the worst things he could be. And he kept smiling and standing through it all. Hell, he was less than a centimetre from death and is in danger every day should his guards slip up.

At some point, we should have a retrospective on how Trump won and honestly, "Dems support Troons" will have a chapter but I think it's less of a factor than people think. It took someone absolutely indefatigable to capitalise on that.

Sucrose is what gets broken down into fructose and glucose. Fructose is absorbed by the gut directly.

You can buy soda cheap in Mexico and it uses cane sugar instead of corn syrup. FME Soda in Europe wasn’t at all expensive either, and it’s not like there were shortages either. If corn and plastic weren’t subsidized we’d have the same soft drinks as the rest of the world, and it’s not like we couldn’t make that composition as scalable as corn syrup. After all, diet drinks are even more profitable for bottlers.

I think a red California is coming soon. The state is at it's breaking point. The Republicans have learned how the fortification game is played and getting election reforms is going to be high on Trump's agenda. When that happens California is in play. It would also be really funny if they stopped counting non citizens for representation in the house leading to a drop in their federal power.

I'm not going to hold my breath for that. "Red California" sounds like the conservative version of "Blue Texas" to me ... Fanfiction.

That's not to say that the GOP shouldn't try to win any elections in California (the GOP has proven that House races in CA are definitely winnable and worth the efforts), but it is quite the large task to try to turn CA red entirely. I don't want the GOP wasting funds there, especially at this point in time. The electorate has changed significantly in the past decade in the GOP's favor already, so I think it would be a good idea to focus time, effort, and money on those swing states in the upcoming years.

Personally, I'd like to see the GOP fix Arizona's election fuckery before they aim to turn CA red.
