What kind of parents allow their shitty kids to read Stephen King's books?

I tried reading IT, Pet Sematary, and Cujo when was like 10 or 11. I loved the miniseries so I wanted to read the book but it started too bore the shit out of me. I've tried to read it on 4 different occasions over 20 years and even tried to listen to an audiobook version and I just can't get through it. You can tell that King actually sucks at endings because he prolongs the book with shit made up along the way to avoid an ending.

I honestly can't remember if I finished Pet Sematary. I remember reading it on the school bus but I can't remember anything else.

Cujo was actually confiscated by a teacher because I was "too young" for it, and it pissed me off because that one was actually kind of entertaining. Maybe I just hadn't got to the boring section yet.

The only thing I thank Stephen King for is that in my senior year I was almost in danger of failing English and I had to take some computerized book test, and I was told by teachers to just take a test on fucking anything and wing it. I chose IT and it gave me enough points to pass the class even by going off of the mini-series alone.

Interesting anecdote.

A few days after the election, I had a customer come in. Boomer age, uses a walker, gun owner, lost almost everything in a fire, etc. He took a phone call and seemed incredulous that Trump had won. He seemed to not like Trump because he didn't have the traditional decorum from presidents in the 60s.

Today he comes in again with a different problem. As we talk he starts reminiscing about 'Nam. He was a lineman (I assume some kind of military engineer) who worked with the Seabees. He mentioned where he and his team were erecting some power lines and he saw some VC trying to sneak in. He grabbed his rifle and, to quote, "shot two dinks as they were trying to crawl under the fence."

The dude might not like Trump, but he's not a limpwristed PR-obsessed faggot. He's a boomer who seems ignorant of social media, so he probably doesn't realize he's considered alt-right by the left.

I'm genuinely interested to see how these mass deportations go. I have a shithead spic neighbor that has given me nothing but problems and I'm pretty sure he's an illegal. I've had to bring him to court before and in the process found out that he lost his contracting license due to fraud and is being sued by multiple credit card companies for not paying his bills. I think he's an illegal because besides being a parasite I did a public records request and he's never voted in an election once. Seeing him deported would be amazing, we're genuinely better off without him.

I used to work in an industry where I worked directly with people in ag. Lots of people doing the manual labor were illegals. Granted, the industry is going to increase the price of eggs and milk no matter what happens come January.

Say what you will about the Republicans but after Romney ate shit they went back to the drawing board and decided to pinpoint every mistake they made so they could avoid making the same mistakes again. Democrats seem determined to keep failing in the same way over and over and I don't understand why.
