Did Fong-Dong lose his good graces with the general public? Everything I've seen in the past few years in regards to him has been people prodding his defenses against the "consent accident" fiasco and others dropping him entirely. I don't want to be overly optimistic, but I have a feeling this next campaign won't be as smooth.
She never had the "good graces" of the general public to begin with. She had a high up position at Google and dozens of contacts through the tech industry and wikipedia and a tweeter account that allowed her to have an "air of authority" on things. The world has changed a lot and she no longer uses tweeter. She used to be "important" because she was a transgender woman from silicon valley - that is no longer the case, people who work at bigtech are the "bad guys" now
especially when they try to join a decentralized social media network (bluesky) that isn't bigtech and try to very obviously put themselves in a position of power to try and enforce their own rule of law. People can see through that shit straight away.
She seems to have main character syndrome a little and thinks people know or care who she is wherever she goes on the internet - they don't, her reputation from tweeter and bigtech and wikipedia has not followed her onto Bluesky. She has joined a brand new social network/community and is trying to introduce her own personal drama/conflicts to it by creating a blocklist with slick branding and the appearance of professionalism and order ("we have a board of 3 people - including myself and someone I am dating, of course we will be totally impartial") and people
do not want that shit. The internet has been total chaos since things like gamergate & Trump came on the political scene and my sense is that people are totally exhausted and automatically cynical of the way that she is acting.
She is forgetting that respect and trust have to be earned and you can't just transfer your "magical internet points/respect points" from your reddit/tweeter account and clck "file.. import" on a new decentralized social media network and everything will just magically work out all good and well. Those other communities are radically different to what Bluesky is and it already has quite an embedded and very insular culture since it has been around a while - the people who have been there are a while are sick and tired of tweeter and probably people just like Liz and their impact on how things have gone before and they don't want to see it happen again.
What she is doing is basically the equivalent of if some semi-famous YouTuber or tweeter/personality set up a day 1 new KF account and asked null for moderator permission. She is
demanding respect and people to acknowledge her authority, but that is not how the internet works, you have to
earn it - especially on new, novel communities with smaller userbases.

than seeing what is effectively a KF thread opening post, complete with properly formatted footnotes and an appendix of screenshots all neatly typed up on official law firm letterhead, is the fact that Elliot is effectively admitting to have paid this firm good money to do it.
