I think, his behaviour had more to do with the company he kept. All his associates were somehow involved with that shit. Ruby was into age play, Puk jerked off to Tracy Lord "cuz it was cool", other guy who had account here claimed in DMs to date 14 yo when he was 19, Neil was hentai obsessed sperg and Jetrex, well, you know what he did. Boon had some shit too, but I fail to recall what it was at the moment. So talking to all those people made him think that being into children is cool and edgy. For the most part, I think he watched loli stuff since it's easy to find.
Claiming to be into this was more of his way to get a reaction from people and he was too retarded to see the long term consequences. You can notice in streams with him how he is trying to dial it further when he sees people getting mad at him. Also, none of his claims about working at a school or having CP were never confirmed, the latter wasn't confirmed even after the police was involved. (I skip I'm touching a child since the only source of this was Bryan and he failed to show any receipts, so it was bullshit)
So yeah, I think, for the most part he was just a sperg who used pedo shit as the means to look edgy and get people angry, thinking that it makes him own them somehow.

Autism makes you very suggestible, I genuinely think Ross got convinced he was a Pedo. But If he actually was there is no way he would be able to hide that for as long as he did. He would say a lot of bizarre dark stuff, which was never true. Truth be told he isn't capable of basic human function. He is able to hold a conversation which is kind of weird, considering how low functioning he is. I think he is like a Savant who is blessed with mediocre speaking abilities.

Maybe it makes harder to see the long lasting effects. Like if someone told you that jerking off to kids is cool, you would immediately see the problem with that. Seeing that KoP documentary was interesting because while I have followed Bryan's antics for a long time, seeing them all in a row like that really showed just how mentally ill and incorrigible he is.
The most interesting part to me was that the way he talks and behaves is generally consistent, but there's this one portion of the video around the Ross stuff where he is working overtime to try and skinwalk Jim and it's really uncomfortable. The way he talks, the words he uses and everything around it are him trying to LARP as if he's Jim, which makes it even more funny that that's his go-to insult to everyone else even years later. By far his most consistent trait is his relentless projection.
