Hentai is disgusting.

This is just kinda stating the obvious, isn't it?

Like, fundamentally I don't even understand the appeal. If porn or hentai were just nudity and sex, I would get it. But they always have to go into unnecessarily gross detail or show things nobody wants to see, or draw the women with stupid proportions that almost seem like a parody.

"Here's insert-anime-girl naked!" the picture promises.

Inevitably it has at least one of the following problems (more often a combination):
-Not really naked, she's still wearing a shirt or otherwise mostly covered, just you can see her butt or something. Sometimes these images will just be underwear shots, which who fucking cares?
-The proportions are all wrong, like one feature is exaggerated more than in the source material or the art is so different it doesn't even look like the same character.
-There's strange fluids all over her.
-You can see men with their dongs out in the picture. Because that's exactly what I want to see if I'm looking up naked women--Penis!
-The position is one nobody would ever actually make and the girl is making a stupid face--usually either faked-shock or some lame attempt at a "sultry" look.
-If its a bondage picture, the girl will be tied up in a way that would actually be excrutiatingly painful or uncomfortable, and in any case isn't alluring at all.
-In the case of movies, they have the problem of having to fit in a million different fetishes so what'll happen is in 20 minutes, there might be one part that would theoretically work, but the rest of the movie is just gonna make you run for the brain bleach. This is before getting into all the other well-known problems with porn like the ridiculous characters and premises that are all-too-aware they exist just to serve a purpose and thus the movie feels like I'm watching a bunch of robots more than people.

(That last one is one of the few cases where I can understand animated porn more than live stuff, though.... animated characters tend to at least be kinda good looking. Every porn actress I've ever seen looks like she could be someone my mom knew in high school).

Just dear lord. Movies and shows that aren't even trying to be porn but just happen to have nudity are more "fit for purpose" than actual porn.

Real porn is disgusting. Real porn supports the trafficking, abuse, rape, murder, blackmail, and more of actual living people. It is an evil, evil industry.

Drawn porn? Someone pays an artist to draw something, the end. There are fewer or even no negative externalities.

I think a big draw of hentai for many is that it's animated and thus you can do anything. I think that attracts a lot of fetishism, and leads to some really degenerate behavior.

Porn is degenerate as it is, and it's increasingly full of fetishistic trash. But it's a lot easier to create gore hentai than gore porn. It's a lot easier to create rape hentai than rape porn. It's a lot easier to create child hentai than child porn. I think that draws in a lot of degenerates, who are looking for the particularly degenerate porn that is more desired and created by those who struggle with women.

hentai actually started off because of a government ban on the depiction of cocks in japanese media, so as a result the japanese started getting creative and what we see nowadays is the end result of all of this.

In a way it's actually pretty similar to what happened in the UK with gun crime: ban the guns and everyone starts using knifes and garden tools, suddenly murder becomes a lot more bloody and violent.

Just to clarify, I'm not saying porn is good, I'm saying that a blanket ban on stuff without first gradually weaning people off of porn will just make everyone look for loopholes which inevitably lead to even more deviancy than there was in the first place.

Not worth the effort these days of wading through the cesspit of bad art, cartoonish proportions, bizzaro fetishes, bad translations, and bad writing to find the one good read. Just go with western drawn stuff or read a fucking book at this point
 
In the end I find it to be less morally objectionable than real porn. If you really must see an animated princess in bikini armor get raped by orcs then at least it was the product of like twenty animators getting to pay rent that month as opposed to one person's actual daughter getting butt fucked on camera for the whole world to see.
