General Wrestling Discussion

Idk, I just thought it was funny because he clearly wasn't going to be able to take on all of those guys anyway, and it was the exact thing that would piss Mox tf off in that moment. Like a little bit of "lol, k" defiance. But I guess that's what I mean by being worked a little. Mox is so off-putting that I find anything that might irritate him a bit amusing.

Though I think I've figured out what is really annoying to me about Mox. He's supposed to be this bad ass who's trying to re-revolutionize the company... but then he's unwilling or unable to name the real root of the problem: his boss. Khan isn't supposed to be a character (except when he is), but Mox never even says that "management" is who's allowing the goofy shit to go on. He doesn't even insult the crowd for lapping that shit up.

He's getting pissy with the inmates running the asylum, but never addresses the decision to put them all in that position in the first place. Like, I can't tell if this is all Tony Khan trying to feign self-awareness or just make the critics seem unreasonable or what.

And having Marina Shaffir as Mox's personal bodyguard is pretty fucking goofy as well.

It also doesn't help that Mox has played the exact same character for the past 5 years with zero evolution other than flipping heel or face depending on who he is in an angle with. He feels like far less of a big deal than when he started with the company but he is still being treated as a top guy.

Somewhat related Linda McMahon is picked to be an education secretary for the trump administration. It would be hilarious if trump host mania 41 at Vegas.
Based AF.

Who’s a bigger deal in AEW than Jon Moxley? Pretty much nobody for the past 5 years except Cody.
Moxley is the main character of AEW.

West Texas Rednecks was absolutely amazing. Best part of 1999 WCW.

Does trips hate traditional survivor series matches? Rather those then BORE games
I like traditional survivor series matches. You see matchups you normally wouldn't see and it helps progress angles pretty well

I k ow we say traditional SS matches are great because we only remember the hood ones but frankly the vast majority have been anything from mediocre filler that they just have to get out of the way to just awful shit where people randomly job to regular moves

Kylie Rae has joined the WWE ID program.

I can save her

Apparently she was a hardcore alcoholic because she couldn't handle the pressure of getting sort of famous in early AEW. She's sober now but if stage-fright is that much of a problem with her then i don't see it ending well if she winds up in WWE-proper.
If anyone can teach you how to wrestle fucked up it's Sean

Hopefully the WWE gives her access to therapy for what Jerifat did to her

I like them. They help progress angles, you see matchups that you normally don't see and it gives people that don't have an angle a spot on a major show. They were better in the late 80s/early 90s because you rarely saw non-squash matches but they're still enjoyable to me

I liked the format in 1990 where the heel and face survivors squared off at the end.

Just found out that both Raw and Smackdown are going to be on Netflix, thought it was just Raw and USA would still have Smackdown.

They’re going to have the PPV’s, originals, and some of the old catalog which makes me nervous because Peacock has a huge one.

Is there any iconic episodes of Raw/Smackdown I should watch?

I’d love it so much if they had collections of just the storylines + matches of single feuds. Which if I’m not mistaken used to be how WWF released VHS Tapes. Like I think I pretty much revisited the Bret Hart-Austin feud which I think everyone knows culminated in the GOAT Wrestlemania match.

Bret Hart ends up being bloodied and beaten to defeat Roddy Piper in WM8 (which sent Bret over) then Bret does it for Austin in WM13 except Bret goes further by hitting Austin with the bell which even Roddy determined was too brutal. It’s like poetry, they rhyme.
