I cried at my vegan wedding — the $15K menu was completely upstaged after guests did the unthinkable

These salad haters deserve to be tossed.

A humiliated bride was “completely upstaged” at her own wedding after hungry guests snubbed the upscale vegan dinner menu — and ordered pizza for delivery instead.

Taking to Reddit, the emotionally distraught bride — whose missive was deployed while crying in the bathroom as the events unfurled — wrote that she and her husband spent “nearly $15,000” to make the menu. It came after months of collaboration with a chef “to create a gourmet 5-course meal that just happened to be vegan.”

Its offerings included mushroom wellington, truffle risotto and roasted vegetable tarts, the 28-year-old added.

“We deliberately didn’t mention the food was vegan on the invitations because we wanted people to enjoy it without prejudice,” she wrote. “Every dish was designed to be delicious and satisfying, regardless of dietary preference.”

However, not everyone was keen to go green, including the bride’s 32-year-old brother, Tom.

“Twenty minutes later, I watched in horror as he and my cousins walked in carrying 20 large pizzas. They started distributing them to guests, announcing ‘Real food for anyone who wants it!'”

“I was mortified. The caterers looked so embarrassed, and several guests hadn’t even tried our carefully planned menu yet.”

The furious bride then confronted Tom, who shared texts his aunt had sent him, complaining that “all the food is just vegetables.”

Naturally, Tom and the family “couldn’t let people go hungry at a wedding.”

Meanwhile, the bride admitted that the “pizza completely upstaged our expensive gourmet meal.”

“People were taking photos and treating it like a joke. My mother-in-law posted on Facebook about how her son’s wedding was ‘saved by pizza’ because the bride tried to ‘force everyone to eat rabbit food.'”

The evening ended with the bride bawling her eyes out in the bathroom, and her 30-year-old husband, who also keeps a plant-based diet, kicked out Tom and their cousins, the pizza accomplices.

“This caused a scene, and now half the family is calling us stuck-up and saying we ruined our own wedding by ‘pushing our beliefs’ on everyone,” the bride wrote. “They’re saying we should have warned people about the vegan menu.”

In the post’s comments, folks online did not side with the newlyweds — particularly for weaponizing the element of surprise.

“Be honest, you didn’t tell anyone about the menu because you knew they wouldn’t like it/come if you did,” one wrote.

“[The original poster] is why people have a negative view of vegans,” added another.

I actually like to order the vegan menu stuff when I go to weddings (unless one of the regular options is something I love) because I get to try something new and different that is usually made to a good standard or better.

Try new stuff.

Also to the degree that this story is true, this was very rude. Maybe after the drinking and dancing starts a couple hours later, then order your pizza. The bride will probably have a slice with you.

Mmm I want mushroom wellington and truffle risotto

Plus roasted vegetable tarts. Sounds fucking delicious tbh

Her family have the pallettes and manners of 8 year olds, assuming this is even real at all who needs to disrupt a wedding dinner service because they didn't get what they wanted? Be hungry for 2 hours and get something on your way home...

Lol! Lmao, even. Dude sounds like me.

I will say, even though this story is obviously fake AI dribble, real life vegans are annoyingly prone to trying to trick people into eating their processed slop like this.

It’s similar behavior to troons desperately trying to trick drunk straight men into making out with them. Must be a NPD thing.

“to create a gourmet 5-course meal that just happened to be vegan.”

"Vegan-foods are real foods! You can't even tell. You've probably eaten vegan meals before without even knowing it."

Wedding couple are insufferable and were deceptive on purpose, pizza guy is a hero.

i was actually going to say it's their wedding and if they want Vegan, then the guests should respect that and it's incredibly rude to order food. then I got to the "we intentionally didn't disclose the menu was vegan." part. nah, go fuck yourself. got what you deserve.

The food actually doesn't sound bad. But the "newly weds" sound fucking insufferable. I wouldn't eat steak with them let alone mushroom wellington. It's a ploy for pretentious people to be pretentious.
Thank goodness this isn't an actual real event that really happened. Some people would be assholes for sure.
