Drones are incredibly powerful but that's only in the context of fairly short ranges of ground engagement. You can target their deployment sites easily with artillery and air strikes and tanks are still important for dealing with hardened fighting positions. Drones are just another ingredient in the mix.

Shipping is not cheap, however, it was the cost of regulations that prompted people to outsource. If these barriers to entry, which raises the cost of having a buisness here are removed, more factories and busniesses may return to the US, no tariffs needed.

I don't think it was regulations alone. You can have stuff manufactured in Bangladesh for slave wages. The biggest cost of almost every business is payroll, so having it made for 50 cents per day instead of $10 an hour saves companies a lot of money.

Tesla. Though definitely overhyped the technology put into it has absolutely advanced electronic cars and batteries.
Paypal. Again, definitely issues but it pioneered digital exchanges.
Starlink unironically is becoming a massive network of easy and relatively cheap internet.
Neurolink has some amazingly high potentials for curing and treating a range of diseases and conditions for which there are no treatments at all.

The man isn't the one who actually invents things. What he is, is the one who envisions them -and- a path towards them. Vision is the first step to real technology. And thankfully Musk knows his limits enough and is good enough at getting the right people on the job to realize a fair chunk of his vision. Most importantly, he aggressively tries to innovate. Yes, sometimes you get the stupid as fuck tunnels. But even those are at least novel and new, and you can learn from the failures. Too much of the entire worlds technology is just... stagnant. I think a lot of this is that "virtuous victimhood" is used by people with high levels of Machiavellian traits, but a huge number of "be kind" people just see their signals at the surface level. "This unfortunate person is uniquely scapegoated by an unfair system!"

It's important to teach kids to identify manipulators and people who attempt to mask dark traits through pity-seeking behaviors. Kids should know enough about abnormal psychology to identify people whose opinions and requests may not be based in reality. If everyone could recognize the signs of antisocial personality disorder, a lot of psychopaths in prison would be unable to ply their sob story to every journo in town.
