Unlike Hillary, the conditions for Kamala being the nominee were only there because of her sex and race. Whatever you think about Hillary, she’s a very accomplished individual who acheieved a lot of what she has today because of meritocracy. This is also true of her husband. None of them wouldn’t gotten this far in life if they didn’t cunningly climb their way to the top.

Compare that to Kamala, a woman who has tried to market herself as the female Obama—only without the achievements. She got her start by sucking the right people and fucking her way to the top. She was literally DEI-selected as the VP. A male Kamala wouldn’t be possible because the system no longer favors men, but even a black or brown man would still need to have a track record. Kamala has none. I think Kamala’s loss is related to her gender but only in that a catastrophically bad nominee could only be selected for being a woman.

Obama had no achievements either. That was literally the appeal, he was a blank slate with no actual accomplishments. He went to Harvard and was President of the Law Review, but basically did nothing. That was basically what he everywhere. He didn’t do much of anything. Even as a Senator, he was just first black guy. He did that up until he was President and fucked up, but had the media to run cover for him.

Starlink unironically is becoming a massive network of easy and relatively cheap internet.
Neurolink has some amazingly high potentials for curing and treating a range of diseases and conditions for which there are no treatments at all.

The man isn't the one who actually invents things. What he is, is the one who envisions them -and- a path towards them. Vision is the first step to real technology. And thankfully Musk knows his limits enough and is good enough at getting the right people on the job to realize a fair chunk of his vision. Most importantly, he aggressively tries to innovate. Yes, sometimes you get the stupid as fuck tunnels. But even those are at least novel and new, and you can learn from the failures. Too much of the entire worlds technology is just... stagnant. Iteration upon iteration but never innovation.

I think it's more that there's just no one else in the party right now that has any positive name recognition. There's probably some good centrist Democrat somewhere in the house or senate, but I couldn't tell you their name off the top of my head, and the Democrats that I could name are for all the wrong reasons. Maybe they can run Newsom finally, but I don't know if Kingmaker Obama approves of him, and I don't know if he can hide his psychopathy well enough for a national run, and I'm not sure if the Democrats are willing to run an honest primary to figure that out, plus who knows if a centrist candidate (hypothetically, I know Newsom is anything but centrist) can even get enough support from their base with how radical the far left is right now.

They've kind of fucked themselves in a bunch of ways, and God knows how they untangle it at this point outside of taking an election or two to just work on de-radicalizing their far left wing, and stop playing kingmaker to let any up-and-comers up-and-come.

They have three: Newsome, Whither, and Warren.

Warren is their best bet of the three since she has a past as a populist she hasn't fully renounced and can pivot way easier than Newsome and Whitmer.
