You're far from alone. A lot of people have also been drawn into "poly" and "lifestyle" BDSM relationships through that same kind of social pressure, only to ask themselves "what was I thinking" once removed from the situation. I remember the day the Mandy thing blew up on SA. For many, many pages the thread was about making fun of Mandy, her delusions, and her posts on multiple social media accounts. If people were concerned at all, it was for Shmorky. That only changed when Shmorky uploaded the recording. Had he not done that, to this day anything she has said about Shmorky would likely be dismissed as the rantings of a mad woman.

What's funny is setting up the circumstances for that recording and then posting it were literal gaslighting in the original sense of the word. Trust trannies, about the only group of people in the world who use that as a verb anyway, would be the ones who do it all the time.

Anyway, it's ironic that the only reason she isn't considered just a lying lunatic attacking an ex is the transparently shitty tactic Shmorky himself used to try to paint her as exactly that. He just did it with such mustache-twirling theatrical villainy that it backfired.
