Whilst not a train autist I do enjoy watching high functioning autists do YouTube videos about their train journeys they make just to visit stations. It’s usually comfy viewing to have in the background which working.

Now the occasional troon shows up doing it to ruin my mood.

I am eternally cursed with the knowledge that the HomeStuck fandom has imprinted upon my once young mind but the lessons learned about online communities has been endlessly useful. At least back then the worst I had to worry about was someone being gay and hitting on me to be in their "quadrants" (think of it like a shitty polycule but you can abuse one side and make a simp out of the other). I have thankfully only joined in smaller communities from bigger ones or built my own friend groups by snatching away much cooler people who are best to chat without estrogen and stinkditch water in the air. I wish more people learned such a skill much more early in life.

Years later after that shit started it's still surreal to me how people tried making "quadrants" a real thing. The entire joke was it was another needlessly convoluted legal bureaucratization of the simple concepts of "person you got romance for, best friend, mortal rival, person that breaks up fights". Them being "legally required relationships classified under romance" was meant to be another factor in the cartoonishly oppressive alien empire's broken ass logic used as a setup for callback jokes down the line.

The current state of Homestuck is due to it's following online being infested by a combo of people who never read the comic, never read it till they went in with pre-baked ideas of what things "mean" by pretentious politics brain poisoned video essayists, or people that tried retroactively warping it into something it wasn't.

All the joy of book collecting has been sucked dry and rendered into just another way to consoom. It feels so hollow now.

I feel the same but extend it to Goodreads. I still occasionally come across profiles who have really interesting books that I check out. However morbid curiosity sets in and I’ll check out the one star ratings. Most of them are dangerhair white girls ranting about some political issue and all the ways this book violated them. Then I started checking out their profiles and sure as shit it’s full of smut where they give four or five stars to non-con gangbang novels next to shit from losers like Ibram X. Nigger.

There is a FB group my mother likes that is for people who buy a particular small brand ‘s middle aged lady dresses. It was originally full of pleasant middle aged ladies discussing new releases, asking for advice on typical middle aged lady problems, sharing hobbies etc etc. It was basically a FB group full of office small talk. Very cosy for the middle aged lady.

And then, because the brand is size inclusive, the trannies arrived.

The middle aged ladies tried to be kind, because they have that shitty “be kind” social programming. The trannies responded with endless selfies and endlessly talking about themselves. And more selfies. These trannies don’t have the hang of filters, so these were proper claw-your-eyes out horrors. They demanded more and more affirmation from middle aged ladies.

The formerly busy group is now a ghost town, as people didn’t feel comfortable telling the trannies to GTFO, so they just left the group itself. There’s about 200 folk left in a group from about 8000 a couple of years back.

Not exactly ruined, but I’ve started to do a bit of Duo Lingo to refresh some of my languages and I’ve noticed a LOT same sex couples in the examples. I’m half tempted to try Arabic to see if suffers from this.

Part of me sees it as a way of them to get you to think about gendered language in unusual settings, the other part of me thinks it’s THE MESSAGE.

Gunpla is somewhat ruined for me thanks to scalpers and consoomers. One of the more recent examples are the HG Aerial and Lfrith. Iirc the original price is around 1400 and 1700 yen respectively, which should translate to around 15$ and 20$ in my country (after taxation, profit, and whatnot).

Then the scalpers scalp, and jacked up the price to 30-40$ when they first released. The worst part is, the consoomers still bought them at that price out of FOMO. Fortunately, the price has come down to normal/reasonable now, but I know, when a new series come out, and therefore new kits, it's bound to happen again and again.

Many of the consoomers also have the audacity to complain about scalpers while still buying things at double price from them instead of waiting the price to come down eventually. The price of older kits also see increase due to those dipshits investing on them. Now, in some communities, some people are more eager to talk about how to invest and resell model kits instead of talking about building the kits itself.

It's not completely ruined since I can still navigate through it, but man, I just want to build cool robots without thinking about investments...

EDIT: I just found that HG Rising Freedom and Immortal Justice are now being sold at around 45-50$ when it should be around 17-20$. Fuck.

For movies , TV shows and video games for me its the corporation that ruined (mostly investment firms). It has been mentioned many times in the thread about wokeness , influencers or consooooooomers it all comes from these firms wanting to make money in the laziest way possible.
Wokeness: Race mix the character or make them gay (the appeal to a new demographic) and get a really cheap crew since we do not pay for anyone that has talent.
Influencers : Its marketing to reach more people get people or buy bots to drum up hype for it. Or act like a walking billboard for a product
consooooooomers: Make shitty merchandise or make a really good merchandise really expensive and have less stock since people will still buy it.
Edit: I forgot about coomers: Making everything sexual.
As well how badly they ruined streaming services , they took away the convince of streaming and made it into a more expensive cable that still has ads.

It's not exactly ruining my interest in the hobby, but it's always pretty annoying whenever you mention to someone that you're into photography (proper photography, which specific camera and lens choices, framing, equipment, post processing, actually giving a shit, etc.) only for them to blurt out "Oh me too!", then spend the next 15 mins showing you terrible, mundane photos they took with their phone.

talking to other photographers is always a crap shoot, I hate it. nine times out of ten you run into someone who's main interest is themselves.
