Mega Rad Gun Thread

Anyone have experience with bushmasters BA50? I know it's the same as a R2MI. I'm debating between that and a M99 (which i love). I would prefer mag fed, but they don't make the M95 anymore and I can't find one for sale at a reasonable price
So they're actually designed by Cobb manufacturing originally. If you can find one of the early ones before cerberus took over, or shortly there after, it's a good buy. The later ones have far too much slop in them for me to feel comfortable with. Considering it's a 50 cal, any slop is kinda a red flag. I'm not sure if Franklin armory brought them back to market after acquiring them, but I do trust their QC, so those mkght be good. Just know, it has a fixed barrel, so you're gonna get slapped around a bit more than with a Barrett 82 or 107 (or some of the other high dollar 50 cals). If you have the ability to play with it, do so, it will help you determine how the fit is.

A lot of recommendations. What I’m gathering is that I should buy a Maverick 88.
I can tell you it served me very well leaning against my desk during my countless hours sneeding online in the uppercase I Internet, just get a solid light mount and a flashlight also within your house 00 buck will pattern as if it was a golfball, so you very much have to aim.

What a coincidence, I was just looking at shotgun sales.
I'm leaning towards a Beretta A300 Ultima(Not the Patrol) for berds; I love the features of it and it honestly seems like a thinned out premium piece rather than a built-up cheapo. I've heard mixed things about the longevity of Winchesters, Benelli doesn't seem to feel "worth it" until you reach about two grand, Mossberg's 940 seems to have absolutely no aftermarket or even spare parts(I'd prefer a shorter barrel on the side) despite the Miculek edition being at a competitive price point.
I'd grab a pump action but the local shops don't have any 590s in stock and 870s are way too heavy for my preferences. I don't even want to look at the Benelli Supernovas because they look and feel like trash.

Unless... how well do those Vietnam-era duckbill chokes work?
You would still need to aim, but they work. Kinda.

Can't go wrong with one, at all.
Solid 12 GA pump action. Get yourself the combo so you can fuck around with clays (it is extremely fun!)
Personally what I'm thinking of myself when I have some spare scratch. Specifically this one:

7 rounds of 12 gauge. Not bad. Seen burn down videos of it, looks reliable by all accounts.

It would be the newer one under Franklin armory. Sadly I do not know anyone that has one, I know 3 people that have M99s and I have shot it about 5 times. My fiance owns a Maadi Griffin so I know what its like to be slapped around with a fixed barrel 50. I found a M82A1 for 7k, i might do that instead but we'll see

I'm able to get membership to a quite nice shooting range in my area that has places to shoot up to 200 yards. I have a $1000 budget for a bolt action rifle and an optic worth getting. I'm trying to decide on caliber. It would be for training distance shooting (I'm new so 200 yards is distance to me lol) and potentially hunting deer and elk, though I wouldn't be hunting anywhere near as often as I can go to the range obviously.

I've shot 30.06, 30 338, 6.5 creedmore, and a 7mm on a recent hunting trip. It was all my various buddy's guns and I liked all of them and dont have a preference between them. I was able to comfortably hit a gong target at 100 yards, but of course that's not very far.

I've been recommended to get. A 270 win mag, 300 win mag, 6.5 creedmore, and a 7mm. I'd like to get the best compromise I can between the price of ammo and the ability to kill elk without totally overkilling a deer. I've read that 270 win mag can hunt anything and is ubiquitously available, but some of my friends say that it's outdated and a 300 win mag is better, but some others say that would be overkill for deer.

One friend recommended I buy a Ruger American Predator mark II
(https://ruger.com/products/americanRiflePredatorGenII/models.html?n=ov) In 300 win mag.

All these people I've mentioned have varying degrees of expertise and experience with firearms and hunting so I figured I'd get a 9999th opinion from here.

For hunting get a .308, more than capable of taking elk and deer, and not going to make you weep when it comes to ammo buying time like a winmag would. Also has the advantage of being an absurdly popular round so if you were to pick up a used rifle rather than new you'll have no shortage of options.

However, before you do any of the above buy a cheap .22LR and scope and work on your fundamentals, good habits developed with a .22LR will transfer over to the centrefire stuff and it will be a damn sight cheaper developing those habits shooting a .22

I just bought a Deane & Adams model 1851 revolver. unfortunately I won't get it in hand until after thanksgiving but it looks much like this one:
Civil-War-Era-British-Model-1851-Deane-Adams-Deane-Revolver_102500608_70165_2550CDB48A7D93B9.JPG

Its a Double action only muzzle loading revolver that was very popular in the british empire. it was designed by Robert Adams in 1851 after Samuel Colts patents expired and was displayed at the 1851 London exposition and garnered a lot of interest by the military but Adams was not given a contract because of its high price. They were popular as privately purchased sidearms for officers though.

The revolvers were mostly made in belgium by various shops but are all regarded as high quality. One of the larger makers of the Adams would go on to manufactor the Confederate Lemat Revolvers during the american civil war.

Most are lightly engraved and were all originally offered in blued finish. most surviving revolvers are finish-less as is the one i purchased. Most were originally sold as a cased set with all the tools needed to maintain the revolver but most of these cases are long gone now and a revolver with its original accessories can bring prices of upwards of 4,000 or more dollars.

the revolver i purchased has no case or finish but the bore is still shootable. The action will need some work but even if i can't get it running, I should be able to flip it for a profit because i got it cheap even for a broken example.

Brothers. I gotta tell you. free yourself from faggotry.
The nigger and the seatttle-ite mistakes the dremel as the way of the Fudd and the fool.
If you are a halfway competent nigger, you can dremel your way to victory. Took the red wheel and the polishing compound to everything we have over the course of 16 hours.
Every mating surface shines like mirrors. And every gun runs the shittiest tip half pressed in ammo like it was hand reloaded by JMB.
You can do it. Do it at home. Learn, and you are your own gunsmith.
After the hunting trip, My Jericho was locking up weird. Odd, considering I've put rounds that had the bullet seated halfway through brass through it with no problems. And everything inbetween.

But after dremeling things, and having the mirror polish after so many hours, everything runs like snot on a mirror.
Quit being a dork. Trust yourself. And shine that shit till disco ball.

Wait until you find out about stick welders, hose clamps, JB weld, and random screws or nails

I'll reitarate, I think the Benelli Nova is better currently for quality. If you eventually want a good and affordable semi, Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol,

Beretta is making Tec 9's again... and they're a licensed copy of the B&T version, iirc. They even use B&T magazines.
Oh, and they're under $1k.

I wouldn't mind trying one at some point.

You'll get mixed answers. You can find a Howa 1500 (modern Japanese bolt action) for under your budget minus an optic. PSA has quite a few on sale currently.
