Even if you were to argue that we are still in a pandemic, COVID kicked off in March 2020. I vaguely remember seeing some of the more extreme folks claim it "really" started around December 2019. Either way, how the fuck does that math out to six years? With even the most neurotic outlook of what a pandemic is, it's been 4.5-5 years tops.

It’s such blatant theater, too. While Mem acts a lot like some of the germaphobic Shaniquas that I dealt with at work during the pandemic, a lot of them are trying to keep the ball (and potential gimmes) rolling by claiming diseases like bird flu are “continuing” the COVID pandemic. Despite that all pandemic related moratoriums and aid ended years ago for reasons like you said. Or that Mem proved that her obesity and living in moldy squalor are far more likely to kill her than Covid itself if she managed to endure the worst of it in a goddamned car.
Salvatore is even offering to draw masked selfie commissions to benefit Mem, because they both seem to believe that anyone beyond their fringe group would think that is an amazing idea.
While this is from August, she’s still offering them in some of her most recent commission posts.
(I also got a good chuckle from 500+ days of bombing and genocides. Because apparently bombing and genocides abroad only started 500+ days ago. Pax Romana, what’s dat?)
Maybe she’s already counting 2025, if she thinks the pandemic started in (very late) 2019?
At any rate, the way she’s been acting really would turn most people off, especially now. $7000 in a couple months is a lot to ask from random strangers, especially if you don’t even do something like influencing that would compel someone to toss you a coin. Mem made over $2000 in one month alone doing absolutely nothing but sitting on her ass and whining, yet she’s angry because it’s not enough. Despite that it’s pretty obvious that she’s getting additional help somewhere besides that money.
While her becoming true and honest homeless would be just desserts, I just really hope that Gem ends up in a shelter. That poor kitty did nothing to deserve developing asthma because her owner was more worried about mowing the lawn than cleaning up sewage for almost a literal year.

You get that kind of backup from an obstruction like roots or a collapsed main. While not super rare to have that happen at at least three different houses seems pretty unlikely

or they don't realize they need an air trap to vent the drain line, don't know what a snake is, keep flushing things that shouldn't be flushed, et c. someone who uses a toilet normally rarely has issues that aren't self-caused.

But if anyone else is looking for a good old-fashioned scandalous rabbit hole to give you perspective on your own choices and / or get you MATI for at least a minute, the "resilient Jenkinses" are your top choice du jour.
They're both classic "useless eaters" who are stereotypical of their respective races, but there is so much more to hate.
For example, the mother is still technically married to a literal pedo. She's only shacking up with the current workshy baby daddy, who was originally renting that 1br to house one of his many children from previous hookups; she moved in with her own kids from other baby daddies, then started popping out more with him.
She is also a "we wuz kangs" pick-me who believes against all evidence that her useless man's genetics are superior to any others in the human race. When the TikTok army came at her with evidence of his deadbeat past, she pretended this was all new to her and that she was leaving him, accepted a bunch of donations to "get her out of the situation," then memory-holed all of that and went right back to regularly scheduled breeder-kink poverty influencing.
And that's still not even all of it.

She used to run a small ring where she’d donate their cut to them (the old 5-6 mutuals she mentioned). Then it came to light that she was either extorting them for more of their cut or just stealing “their” donations for her own use. Her control on them was so great that one even let Mem use her credit card (that she then e begged to cover payments on, because of course).
History appears to be repeating itself. Salvatore admitted that she took out a $1000 loan and “donated” it to Mem
All Mem replied with was that people need to commission or donate to Salvatore so that she can transfer the funds to her. I repeat, Mem is asking people to commission or send money to Salvatore so that Salvatore can give it all to Mem, despite Salvatore struggling to pay her burden on her own. Salvatore is okay with this.
There is definitely scamming going on, and very likely someone exploiting a special need woman’s friendship by financially abusing her on top of it. What a clusterfuck.

It's clear that Salvatore is being taken advantage of and they do deserve it once you see the entire situation. There are people who have been through worse and received less support or assistance and still had to work while being actually disabled or have multiple mouths to feed and care for. Often more than one job! Seeing people like Mem (hopefully) struggle is karma. None of them attempt to look into government or local assistance.

“Abusers” for these types are always parents telling them to stop being neets and/or providing them with the supplies needed to continue being a neet. Mem herself calls her father her abuser that she had to flee from, yet depends on him for her health insurance (and likely far more if he’s coming over to lecture her to get her shit together). Salvatore’s parents must’ve understandably told her to not get a loan or two, especially for an internet stranger, yet were called abusive anyway because they didn’t reply “yes, dear.”
I was always under the impression that Salvatore was a simpleton with minimal life experience. This confirmed it for me. This is some Nigerian Prince shit. Only instead of expecting money in return, she’s telling people to follow her oh so noble “risky” example.
Mem is definitely on some sort of tugboat or getting more offline charity than she’s letting on. Many e beggars are on welfare and/or food stamps and e beg because they believe they deserve more without putting in the effort.
It’s a recurring tactic of hers too, if her previous house begging indicates anything. Exact same fucking thing happened. She’s doing something to the plumbing, and then using her “fear” of Covid as a way to keep people coming in to fix it. Everything is a grift for Mem.

Some Thanksgiving madness for everyone to peruse. Saw this on Reddit this morning and figured it fit here, made me laugh at the insanity at least.
My bet is they were going to try and sell plates of food, not hosting a big gathering or anything.

When the free Thanksgiving dinner for 8 is not enough…
I volunteer with a local community center charity that gives food to those in need at the holidays. Anyone local can fill out a short survey and we bring the entire Thanksgiving meal to their house. Turkey, sides, even dessert.
It is funded entirely by donations from others in the community, including plenty of families who don’t really have extra to spare themselves.
I’ve been assembling and dropping off the bag/baskets of food every year for the last five years. Usually recipients are *extremely* grateful and there are no logistical issues. Today, however…
Oh and PS: Turns out the charity told this person both verbally and in writing — weeks ago — that we could not accommodate a 31-person household. They were just playing dumb with me.
