The teeny tiniest bit of empathy might tell you that *you* have no idea what it's like to be socialised into femininity and that it's nothing like the male fantasy of it. You envy something that doesn't exist then call women ungrateful for not appreciating it more
Women are people, not fantasy feminine constructs. We are punished when we deviate from the feminine norms men impose on us, but when we conform, men decide we love it - we're natural masochists, natural objects, naturally submissive, "hollowed out" and vapid, as Long Chu has it
I am so sick of women being raged at for shattering the illusion of femininity as refuge for the unhappy male, then being told we're spoilt and privileged for not enjoying all this non-personhood that's been handed to us on a plate.
Long Chu does this, Serano does this, Wu does it here. All this envy of women for the fantasy lives we don't lead, all this anger that the "ungrateful" mirror dares to talk back.
"You've never been denied any area of expression"
Ignoring the obvious (eg Afghanistan) millions of women keep their mouths shut all the time, fearing repercussions from the men closest to us. And you just think it means we like being demure little objects with nothing to say
Here's Serano on those selfish cis women taking all that "female identity" for granted and "casting themselves as victims"
Or Long Chu comparing the poor, sad life of the pre-transition male, with his sad, deep feelings, before he transforms into being vapid and empty, like a real woman
There is just zero recognition of women as human beings in any of this. It's identifying into Barbie Dream House non-personhood on the basis that little girls can't possibly suffer as little boys do (or if they do, they enjoy it)
The biggest irony is none of these people could *stand* being treated like women. If they really loved femaleness as "the self being sacrificed to make room for the desires of another", they'd never question our desire to have spaces without them. They'd be delighted to oblige
