Lots of people here seem to take this show very seriously. It’s weird because the sneed chat vibes are comfy and everyone is just having a laugh at the silly comedy reality show, the thread is such a contrast. I can’t see what the fun would be in watching this through gritted teeth with forehead veins ready to pop. Do people really care that much about the perceived virtue of the contestants? Imagine how boring it would be to see a bunch of based bros sit around for 6 weeks doing bench presses and giving each other fist bumps of agreement on stupid culture war shit while subservient women empty their spit cups for them…

I also don’t get why people here seem to think of Sam Hyde as some kind of upstanding bastion of the ultra right. I’ve never heard him claim to be that, MDE and World Peace didn’t seem to present that, I’ve only ever heard him say he’s a silly man who likes to make people happy… as comedians should be. His life advice is often comically bad or an extreme version of basic “clean your room” type stuff for comic effect. If you take this shit as seriously as some here then I think it’s probably you that he’s mocking.

Idk I’m interested in hearing people’s thoughts.

(I think S3 has been great so far and there have been points where I’ve laughed harder than I can ever remember. Sam and the rest of production’s mood seems to have dipped a bit over the past week or so, maybe from running such a massive DIY project with such a small crew and that’s made it a bit less fun to watch but hopefully they have some whacky capers planned for the last week and we’ll all log off fat and happy ‘til the next tank)
No one is asking for the fish to be saints, we just ask that they don't openly support gay child grooming and rape directly on the show in front of everyone. Not sure why people like you seem to keep coming in here and complaining about people not liking pedophilia, but it's getting old.

When did anyone on the show get asked about "child rape" specifically (and not renounce it)?
You seem to really conflate the whole kiddy dragshow shit with both grooming and child rape - grooming I can understand but AFAIK there is no material accusation or court judgement concerning child rape. And I'm not just saying this shit to be contrarian to you, but "child rape" isn't a part of the story and has never been.

What I see as having happened is that kiddy dragshow shit somehow become normalized through mass media. A contestant who makes kiddy dragshow costumes for young kids joined the show and also has some bad history or some shit. There's some modeling shots or some shit with a kid in drag and supposedly next to some guy who is naked.

The contestants were put in a position of "do you or do you not accept the concept of kiddy dragshows (which has been normalized to some extent via mass media)"

AFAIK none of the contestants were put in a position of "do you or do you not accept the concept of child rape & grooming"

And I get where you're coming from, that grooming/rape probably result from kiddy dragshows and that its fucked up that its normalized to begin with and that someone like Brandon has no qualms at all about it - but it feels like a reach to keep bringing up "child rape" when there's no criminal charge or accusation for it.

Ian has to be there too.
There is no Jobe without Ian.
YOU CAIN SAY THA SHIT AROUND ME! THAT AIN COOL BRO! THAT'S OUR WORD! YOU CAN'T SAY THAT! IT DOESN'T MATTER I'M MESSICAN! YOU CAN'T SAY THAT WORD! STOP IT!
Wrong. Jet was asked multiple times and changed his answer every time. It was all wishy washy.
There are actually FTC regulations around gameshows and competitions; if Luke was working with production, that means he's an employee, and they may not be able to allow him to win even if they wanted to legally. That's why Mr. Beast is being looked into for his show, they were fixing their gameshow when that girl should have one when she was hiding in the ceiling or whatever but they fixed it.
Everyone just kinda forgets that Burt defended Brandon the most, and was among the first to raise his hand when Luke asked for a show-of-hands for who all thought child drag shows were okay.
Burt did not understand what was going on and I will give him a pass. He just came off weeks, maybe a lifetime of being fucked with for being a nutty faggot. But once Burt was asked how he felt about children doing drag, HE WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT SAID NO, THAT WAS FOR ADULTS. BURT IS LITERALLY THE ONLY ONE AMONGST THEM THAT KNOWS IT'S WRONG. AND BURT DOESN'T KNOW WHO OR WHERE HE IS, BUT HE UNDERSTANDS BASIC MORALITY. I don't have the clip right now, but when Burt was in the confessional, and he wasn't in some manic disassociative state, he sat there and talked about how drag is adult entertainment and children should wait until they're adults to do it. Very lukewarm take, but the most based of all the OG fish.

I don't even really know/understand who Lactasia is and don't know if being a fan of that person is some sort of Geneva convention-tier unforgivable crime (is it as bad as saying nigger mistakenly?) but I did want to say this more as a general comment/observation about the contestants and show rather than just being about peyote.
Lactatia is the name of the 9-year-old drag queen.

One particular situation I noticed was when cymbalta left and immediately livestreamed with Brandon - I don't think he even checked his social media or anything to fully understand what the issue/controversy was (he seemed both tired & drunk and had literally just left the house). If he had I'm not sure he would've done so if he had seen the kind of things people were saying.
I am VERY sure this is why he stopped the live with Brandon and never came back afterward. Brandon was reading out some of the things people were saying, and Simbal was like "oh, I've got a charge, time to go call my person."

Peyote has now been trapped and completely isolated from the outside world in a bizarre house for the past month with a 160 IQ schizonigger, Sam Hyde, a rambling drunk hobo alcoholic, confrontational/controversial and often semi-racist/hateful TTS (in particular to cymbalta, although I'm sure many other races were given airtime) plus people like Jobe who has held long and passionate ethical debates about the use of the word nigger with Ian.
Peyote is from Tyler, a very conservative bedroom community. I give her some grace, also I appreciate that she didn't go for Skye, though you could tell she was pretty tempted lol. Girl was holding her hand, professing her love and errything. It was so cute. Afterwards Peyote was in her room talking shit about how she told her parents she WOULD NOT while on a reality show. No way, no how.

People expect it to be great all the time, but everyone defines "great" differently. I enjoyed quite a bit of it, but I don't want to watch Airsoft Fatty 16 hours a day (I have to check in on it to make sure it's not muted or black-screened). I don't want to watch some schizoid be worked like a human doll. I like schizos doing funny shit on their own, not at the prompting of others.

I don't really watch the show with gritted teeth and forehead veins ready to pop but it is really fascinating to watch and discuss what happens on the show and try to understand the motivations and all of that shit. Sort of like sitting at a cafe and people watching.

Also, a lot of the time when there are conflicts, it always feels like things are super on the verge of having a really interesting resolution that never carries through (like Alex B with his ogre wife and people confronting him to leave that relationship) - that whole scenario in particular is really interesting to discuss and I was emotionally invested in the outcome of it (which was disappointing) so I wasn't really watching that part of it with the frame of mind of "haha funny show".
I think part of the appeal of the "serious" side is that most people are primarily genuine to who they are outside of the show because Fishtank is 24-7 and not edited to play up personas or archetypes. Even if someone is acting during the high stakes scenes or when the wiggers want to film something, they can't be constantly acting. They slip up eventually. So when you see glimpses of who they are it's easy to buckle up and go along for the ride.

The Alex drama was unique and truly a defining moment of the season, both hilarious and painful. Painful because everyone tried to save him but he didn't want to be saved. It says a lot when Sam isn't playing shit up and genuinely wants to help someone. Hilarious because he fucked up spectacularly despite people truly wanting him to do better for himself. Hilarious because of all the insanity that came from it. And now Alex is a true and honest lolcow because he has proven he doesn't want to change, he is happy being a miserable lying sod.

But back to the show. I like those raw moments. They're infinitely more interesting and have the best payoff for viewers and fish alike. I think production needs to really sit down and assess what works and doesn't work or at least have a loose plan for the home stretch of the show.

Am I the only one who feels that Luke was never a plant and then the wiggers realized "oh shit we like this guy" and decided to keep him on speed dial
There is a video of Luke is confession, where either Jet or Ben says, "they know you are a plant." That was from before he got eliminated.

Who gives a fuck what Burt supports or doesnt. Hes funny and produces ments. Hes not anyones fucking pastor. You wanna hear the word of God? Stop watching MDE and go to church. This is for entertainment. I cant believe some of you guys are still crying about the tranny pervert and who "supported" him the most. If you align your moral compass by what the fish have to say, you are legally retarded and should not be watching.

everyone's so mad about binx, when she's letty this season lol
I dont really know what people mean by the Letty archetype. But a big difference is Letty was a target of a lot of the harassment. She was harassed by the other fish, the freeloaders, production, and TTS. Binx hasnt come close to that adversity, and screams assault when anyone hassles her. How would she react to Fatty spitting in her face?

They could've told him to go along with it. But who knows?

I personally think the wiggers are incapable of finding good talent like that purposefully. They couldn't even properly vet half the people they brought on.

I mean some people probably just like it for the hellhouse/comedy/chaos nature of things, other people (like myself) enjoy it because its a really interesting dive into human motivation and how people act when there's a camera on (or not on as they were lead to believe early on), voyeurism, the role of fame and social media and all the interesting dynamics and relationships between the various contestants, crew and the audience.

And also there is that insane curiosity about how some of these people will act once they leave the fishtank. In particular Burt is going to be extremely interesting. His social media stuff right now is super isolated/insular (sort of) and it's going to be really interesting to see what goes on there.

There's no rule that says you can't watch it and look at it a bit deeper while also enjoying the hellhouse/comedy/chaos shit too. "Entertainment" is a broad term and not everything has to be formatted to be a 30 second long fucking YouTube short or TikTok video where "funny man say nigger" or "fat man fall over in chair" or "sam hyde kick door" or "haha 160 IQ schizonigger shave hair" (and if you want that, then that's cool - I guess fishtank is nice because it is entertaining in very different ways to very different people)

They supported children doing drag, which they don't equate with grooming or rape. Payton had vaguely heard of Lactacia. Burt didn't really seem to know what was going on and mostly just felt bad for Brandon, and when asked if he support a kid doing drag in the context of a lot of shouting he initially said yes (but having been pressed further has stressed that he thinks children should wait till they're adults, it's just fine for them to grow up wanting to be drag queens). Binx was shown a photo that Brandon didn't take featuring a RuPaul's Drag Race contestant in an inappropriate state of undress with Lactacia that she didn't approve of but stated wasn't anything to do with Brandon, and that he shouldn't have featured it on his web page next to nudity. Luke was also shown that but basically just said he doesn't really care and he was mostly doing it as a bit (like when he was trying to put Binx on trial for having gay sex). Da Boyz privately sided with Luke, but then didn't say anything else, which suggests they were mostly just going along with what the alpha chad contestant was saying because they thought he was cool. Brandon meanwhile continually lied about what happened and insisted he'd just fulfilled a custom drag request for a kid.

This is also on a show where they continually fuck with contestants and show them a lot of fakery like making Symbal think people were making AI gay porn of him and Burt, or showing Burt a load of fake Donald Trump tweets to prove Donald Trump was personally angry with him for being rude about MAGA. TTS and various guests also say chud things. So the fish probably thought Brandon was a dweeby gay guy that production had brought on to be a punching bag. If you got told "Hey everyone, welcome to Famous House! Oh no we hired a pedophile, you should all maybe vote him off! But we're not going to kick him out so vote for whoever you want" while the guy in question protests his innocence and Sam acts like a nut, what conclusion would you draw?

Personally I think Jet actually intended for it to be a bit - one google search of Brandon would bring up the reason Trump painted a target on him - but Sam had to overreact, likely to overcompensate for the rumours about his own peccadillos. You can complain that they didn't automatically go "a child doing drag must be getting groomed, raped and molested" but surprise surprise, while many people may disapprove, that's not likely to be their first thought either. We live in an era where RuPaul's Drag Race is mainstream entertainment, and they deliberately cast a bunch of normies. It's just not reasonable to characterise how the Fish behaved as supporting child rape because they didn't know they were supporting child rape, couldn't do their own research and don't trust anything production says.

Honestly at this point I think the 'contest' is unsalvageable and irrelevant. I think even Frank coming back will be neither cathartic nor entertaining, because he really only works when the Fish aren't this close to the finish line. It's not like he's going to hassle anyone out on day 37(of 42) or whenever he's coming back. At most you'd just get Binx and Payton harpy screeching and/or sobbing in the confessional/bathrooms for 5 days. If you wanna see that, that's cool, but yeah sounds like nontent to me.

At this point, my ideal final week would be them flying in a bunch of Fishtank alumni and just partying and doing retarded shit/embarrassing challenges for fishbucks for a few days. Bring in the Bloodgames cast, Frank, maybe even Josie. Hell bring back Mizzy too, she seems keen to mog Payton and Binx at this point, and it's funny (in a spanish shame kind of way) to watch her thirst for Sam.

The current trajectory does not spark joy, and I'd rather just see people I like having fun than retardedly worrying about some kind of cathartic moral victory here.

Burt is complaining that the Act 3 stuff only lasted for 4 days but was clearly supposed to last for the rest of the Fishtank. There's no contestants or freeloaders, there's no competitions, the house is a mess, but he feels the writers and production have no clue where the show is supposed to go and he's no idea how they can keep creating content for the next 9 days.
