General Wrestling Discussion

Undertaker's career reminds me of Hulk Hogan's. The difference between the two is that instead of mashing new guys down the drain to build himself up through each era of wrestling, Undertaker used his status as a big, scary veteran to make newer guys look good. Does current era wrestling even have someone like this to maintain an old schooler reputation and give the newer guys legitimacy by contending with him?

Men smaller than Rhea doing spot monkey stuff will never be respectable. Pretty much any audience would rather watch Steve Austin get his shit off, bleed and look scary to the benefit of some storyline vs. smark favorites like Malenko, Psicosis or some other literal who flying around.
Plus he beat that faggot Kanyon retarded which gets a HELL YEAH outta me.

what the crap are y'all smoking that Taker was a good worker
in the more existential "popped the crowd and sold tickets" sense yes, but dude barely did anything in the ring and his mic work was even less
he was a gimmick and booking beyond even Mil Muertes
I would say the fact that ge could have consistently good matches when he was allowed to actually work would be a sign he's a good worker and no "he couldn't make heidenreich/the great khali/giant Gonzales look good" is not in fact a mark against him

hogan, taker and most of all hhh were actually good workers. nash always sucked
it was always smarks who bitched about those 3, especially HHH, while I do think Booker or HBK could have been World Champ for a bit in 2003 the idea that HHH is a bad wrestler makes me smell the lack of deodorant on a smark

I think my wrestling binge has reached its apex, I watched so many PPVs I had only dreamed of watching as a kid. Learned a lot of the history details. But I just learned this, when Vader was dying Sting was routinely visiting him and calling him on the phone.

What an outstanding individual Sting is. Easily in the top 10 of greatest American Wrestlers of all time. I cannot goof on Tony Khan & AEW when they gave Stinger a proper retirement event.
I'll never get tired of Sting's 10/10 Stealth. Eat your heart out Agent 47.

Kanyon was fucking amazing. Taker is a retard for burying him like he did.

Taker would happily bury the shit out of the new guys to keep his spot. Taker in late 90s, early 00s was notorious for this shit. He buried the everliving shit out of DDP and others who were a threat to his spot. Once he got older and the writing was on the wall that he was on his way out, he'd put others over, but otherwise he was a notorious dick who took himself way too seriously.

He was dog shit in the ring, his promos sucked ass, but his entrance, look and gimmick were 10/10

The whole incentive for working with Hulk in his prime was that you were going to make a shit load of money. It wasn't so much about him making you look good or putting you over. When One Man Gang saw his paychecks for his house show run with Hogan, I doubt he cared that he had to lose to him. "The money and the miles..."

Who did he actually "bury" ill agree ddp is basically his one black mark but who else did he actually bury that wasn't someone who clearly had no
Buisness being a main eventer?

Not talking about anything else that you said in this post... but I remember this angle, I remember how shitty it was when Taker's wife (at the time) pinned DDP, and it was indeed shit... but DDP was ^never^ a threat to Taker's spot... At any point in time.

I started watching in 2007, I was young at the time so I wasnt browsing forums or anything, I could only imagine how hard people were bitching that Taker won the World Title from Batista at WM23, it must of been a big deal considering the fact that Batista was the new young talent that everyone gave a shit about
