agree with you, except for the part about feeling bad. DSP is a greedy, manipulative narcissist and I find him genuinely impossible to pity (which is IMO what makes for a truly fun lolcow, none of that pesky empathy getting in the way).

I feel bad about Phil’s circumstances, because he is not intelligent nor mature enough to handle having been popular on YouTube 15 years ago. Most lolcows are not equipped to cope with the fame or the trolling, mostly because of their underlying psychological problems. Aside from being stupid, he is addicted to spending money, and shows signs of NPD and BPD, traits that he was born with or that were encouraged by how he was raised, somewhat beyond his control.

I would never give money or actually support him, mind you, it wouldn’t help him anyways, but seeing someone that has the emotional skills of a toddler handling precipitous and overwhelming fame, and ruining his life over it is rather sad. He’s just another part of the internet, he could have found some help with his problems if he had cut and run with his early money and quit entirely. But it’s been a train wreck ever since, with a seemingly endless amount of train cars piling up before it ends.

I don't know or care what Phil's IQ is, but he's a narcissist and can't admit mistakes. The average boomer is going to struggle a bit with setting up a new computer, but they're not documenting and talking to a bunch of dents through the whole process. When Phil chooses to not look anything up and just cluelessly bumble through while blaming everything on outside factors, he comes across as a moron.

But Phil doesn't see that because to a narcissist it really is the computer's fault he can't set it up properly. He didn't buy the wrong card or device or drive---it's the computer itself, or the software, or the trolls, or a dent told him the wrong thing to do, or whatever. It's never Phil.

There was a recap of the game going over what happened, and a goal was scored to change the outcome during said recap.

Also any talk of fake tipping has to include that pre-2021, the likelihood of this was lower since he had tips via StreamElements/StreamLabs. If anything, numbers were likely underreported because he could get a direct Paypal payment. Now though... everything is reliant on what Phil says out loud.

One other thing, you have to remember the Vest streak was 1) on Twitch, 2) during COVID when people were getting money they clearly didn't need if they were giving it to Phil and 3) was only $100 not $150. He's got a smaller audience on a platform where it's harder to be found, with less interest in trolling him, with less whales, and in a worse economy.

During the DSP interview the KC spent some time righteously felting DSP on his persistent pedoshielding of Derich, a porn obsessed paypig that was caught having playlists of children on his youtube account. DSP constantly held out defense for Derich, ignoring all the evidence relating to him for the sake of superberries.
