Cartoon Industry thread - Showcasing the Spergery of the Animation Industry

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
Disney storyboard artist introduces the cast of her Magical Girl Parody cartoon, which just ends up looking like the second coming of Pen Pals Forever. There's some pronouns bullshittery and the obligatory wholesum 15 year old lesbians plotline, but it's otherwise unremarkable to the point where I start to question where I've seen this exact pitch before. (why is it always the magical girls)

I'm not gonna lie, I think the art is cute and creating original characters is at least a step up from stealing and shitting on somebody else's work. That doesn't make appeal. You see all these character descriptions but none of them really answer what this show is even about or why it exists. Kids like cartoons with cool visuals, engaging stories and memorable characters. I'm completely failing to see what kind of appeal children will find in these characters much less this story. It feels like a "kids' show" targeted towards nostalgic adults.

As usual, the villain has the only memorable design with a strong silhouette.

These people really don't learn.

I am kicking myself so hard for not getting a screenshot of this before it was deleted (it was 2 AM and I was about to crash). But I saw some OK KO account crying because Jim Cummings, who voiced the show’s main villain, is on the transphobes’ side on the war against men in women’s sports. I went to Jim’s account but couldn’t find anything recent, so I’m assuming either both posts were deleted, Jim’s post was real far back in his history, or the fan account got clowned on so hard that they deleted it.
Deleted about 9 replies to the trump news account after those 400 labeled offended robots got mad at him.

LoL that negress is licking the poster just like SpongeBob was licking the poster with the Krabby Patty in Krusty Krab training video episode:

Despite that, I guess I can agree - magical girl shit, but with (((Current year))) crap. I guess.

For all those girls that made all of those Tokyo Mew Mew fanime back in the late 2000s, they sure didn't use any of that inspiration for these cartoons.

Isn't this just the inverse of "Gushing Over Magical Girls" if it was made by California?

Disney storyboard artist
It's the Jessie fangirl, she's going to shove in RocketShipping in some form or another. Discarded.

Also the main lead is literally designed after Yotsuba. Fucking. Discarded.

EDIT: There's already a series based around not wanting to be a magical girl. It's called "I've Had Enough of Being a Magical Girl" (and it was meh tbh maybe the manga's better?).

ALSO, I just remembered this bitch is from Tumblr, so you know for a fact she saw this post going around and might've also reblogged it.

So her concept isn't even original to begin with. Only difference is a nigger cast, that's it. She has nothing new to bring to the table.

Not even the lowest point when it comes to its animation, I shit you not that everytime I see this, it causes me rage

(Edit: I accidentally put the russian dub audio instead of the actual english audio, shit happens)
What really pisses me off about this scene is how there's nothing interesting about it, not interesting shots, angles, expressions, faces nor visually attractive or interesting

This is more notorious if you compare it with the show it's supposed to "parody"

If the show you're parodying holds better than your version, then something's wrong with your show.

Researching some of the staff of we baby bears, I realized that some of them or are amateurs who never worked on a cartoon on their lives, or people who actually knows how to draw and actually worked on other shows, overshadowed by the bad art direction/translation, I refuse to say its because of the bad budget because shows with lower budgets gets even better results

It’s Gushing Over Magical Girls if the writers tried to make it a show for kids, couldn’t draw or write properly, and fetishized minorities.

God I hope the villainess is a racist TERF with a catchy villain song. It would give me a reason to pay attention to it instead of just ignoring it

I'm not gonna lie, I think the art is cute
Hard disagree, literally every attempt to cop anime by these creatively bankrupt millenial faggots always end up with nigger/bean mouth/steven trooniverse visuals that are a spit in the face to actual anime visuals.

I agree with this comment as this fucking Cal Arts shit they put out is so fucking LAZY in its creation.

Shit, the woman NOR the industry can't even create something new.

It's all about Data mining IP's or others peoples creations.

Do you actually think I hire one of these shitless wonders.

As Stated before I REFUSE to hire the fucking shit these people produce in the US.

I have to go to Eastern Europe to get quality content done that "I" want and I'm paying good wages for that quality as well.

Then what will? 🤔
If indie animation isn't the future then I think animation of foreign countries will be a more likely candidate.
The American animation industry is going to shrink into a singular monopoly because streaming (Along with other factors) has ruined the TV industry. Alot of animation studios originally started out as advertising firms. And I see that 2D animation is going to be solely for advertising.

Watch Turner Broadcasting (Cartoon Network/Adult Swim/Boomerang) and Paramount (Nickelodeon/Nicktoons/Nick Jr.) merge together. Hell Disney might buy up both major companies. Those companies aren't gonna last for long the way things look.

All I know is that alot of spoiled rotten animation fags are gonna be out of a job within the next 10 years thanks to horrid decisions and crappy pandering to manchildren and retarded women...

That's pretty creepy because the character is a personal bodyguard of a little boy and kinda obsessed about his work too.
I swear. Big city greens are going to have major grooming scandals. So many creeps worked on the shows.
Friendly reminder that the co-creator of Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law is also the current president of Cartoon Network since 2022.
The one classic adult swim show that aged the worse and ended up taking itself too seriously for a cartoon parody show. Especially the spin-off with Bird Girl. Knowing it's him running Cartoon Network actually explains a lot.

Please no, I’m having flashbacks to another ironic “magical girl” show that was dripping with embarrassment for the genre.

Why can't any of these hacks make an actual honest-to-god attempt at a magical girl show? Why does it HAVE to be a subversion/deconstruction/whatever the fuck? Are they so creatively bankrupt that they can't even try to put their own spin on the genre that doesn't seem like it's oozing with contempt?

Whatever the answer is they can just just stew in the fact none of their magical girl shows will ever be Madoka Magica.

Is one of these "girls" the creator's avatar? I assume the fat one.

I would NOT have sex with them.
