i have to agree, a lot of the people that had dealings with Shmork like KC Green the Game Grumps are just good people that are probably seething as much as @Lowtax is, just silently. unfortunately the internet's currently very politically charged by the far left, which uses the tactics that they think everyone else uses (doxxing, mass witch-hunting) to silence people who speak out. they do a lot of bitching about harassment but they treat people who even mildly associate by proxy like a gangrenous limb that needs to be pre-emptively lopped if there's even one mis-step. i'm far more terrified of Tumblr than i ever was about places like KiwiFarms, because Tumblr was far more likely to dox at the drop of a hat. i saw someone who was a hard-left feminist try to dox and deport a CSA victim back to his country of origin, which he escaped due to said CSA, because he disagreed with her (she was 17 at the time of doing it and faced no charges; she currently resides on FA trying to get money out of furries). those people fucking terrify me.

I'm 100% open and honest with my kids in every aspect of life. I figure I'd rather have them hear shit from me, when I can explain it to them in terms they understand and in non-loaded terms that the Nazi SASS brigade would spin. I told both my kids that I'll treat them honestly and like adults as long as they do the same to me, and we've had zero issues with this. I'd rather have them learn about the fucked up shitbag deviants on the internet from me than stumble upon them by themselves and not be able to comprehend what's going on because they're unprepared or unable to digest the fucked up shit they're spewing out. They're going to learn about it sooner or later, and I'd rather have them do it in the open, with me, where I can answer their questions and prepare them for the hellish nightmare apocalypse world of garbage they're inheriting from us.

I don't monitor their internet interactions at all. I do not believe in filtering or censoring anything from them. I believe in preparing them for the world they're about to live in, and instead of concentrating on blocking things I find disagreeable, teaching them how to deal with things they find disagreeable. I tell them, don't trust an adult just because they're older than you. Question everything. Also DARE is a joke.
